Sunflower thank you card

Hi everyone! The quest to get all my colored images onto cards continues! Today I'm sharing the gorgeous sunflower image from the Sunflower Seasons stamp set by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps I colored with copic markers. I love that this image is big enough to really get some good blending and coloring but small enough to work on cards. I ended up trimming off the stem and leaves due to the layout.

I knew immediately I wanted to use papers from the Graphic 45 Garden Goddess paper pad as the colors flowed perfectly and several designs featured sunflowers! Another 1/4" silk double bow courtesy of the Bow Easy-I can't get enough of these. So so pretty. The sentiment is from the All Occasions Sentiment SET 2.

A baby card and color challenge card to share

Hi everyone!  I have a new Spellbinders card to share!  I made this baby card as a sample for Stacey's recent Spellbinders HSN appearance.  My little card was sitting on the left side of the table.  Stacey's segment was bumped up do to the prior segment ending early.  Thus, my DVRing the show missed it!  So, if you happened to see my card, let me know :-)

The card uses the new Shapeabilities die templates, New Arrival, the Nestabilities Labels Seventeen, and the Jumbo Scalloped Border Petites (say that 5 times!).  The stork and baby were sponged while they were still in the die.  That way only the paper "embossed" gets color.  I have never done that technique before, it was one of the things I learned at the Spellbinders retreat.  Cool huh?  The adorable pattern paper is from Graphic 45, the Baby 2 Bride collection.  So pretty and soft! 

Next up, is a card I made for this week's SCS Color challenge 322.  I rarely have time to play along with SCS challenges anymore and I MISS THEM!  Anyway, this week's colors were Blushing Bride, Certainly Celery and So Saffron.  What great soft colors!  I used the cutie stamp set by Unity, Loolah (an Iron Orchid Designs co-brand). The pattern paper is Echo Park, Little Girl Collection and the ribbon is So Saffron.

A Proper Gentleman to the rescue

Hi everyone!  I had a chance to play along with this week's SCS sketch challenge.  I really liked this one!  I had a birthday card to make for my dad, so I used this to get me motivated.  You see, I stress every year about making cards for my dad (here is the card I made in 2007, my post from 2008, and post from 2010).  SERIOUSLY I really struggle.  I searched my stamp sets for something to use that I haven't ALREADY used multiple times, when I got the idea to pull out my Graphic 45, A Proper Gentleman 8x8 pad!
My card has no stamping!   I only used pattern papers from Graphic 45.   I also used some of my much neglected 1.5" wide striped grosgrain which I found was a perfect match with the fine linen cardstock.  The sketch called for an oval, but I changed it to a rectangle to accommodate the trio of oldie cars.

I was really torn on adding the buttons, but I tried all kinds of different stuff for the "circle panel" of the sketch, but nothing worked.  In general, buttons are borderline girlie, but I thought by sticking to masculine colors and threaded them with black floss it would work.  And I am surprised, but I think it did!
