Quilting cards: Love you and Hello

Hi everyone! I am back today to share a few more cards using Spellbinders new collection called Home Sweet Quilt. If you missed any of my other cards, you can check out this and this blog post. This collection brings the look of quilting to the papercrafting/cardmaking world! You can make projects super easy or very detailed, depending on how many colors and patterns you want to work with. Check out what I made.

First up is a card using the new Filigree Eight Point Star die set and the Orange Peel Quilt 3D embossing folder. For this pattern, I trimmed off some of the outline shape and was left with this pretty star pattern. This new embossing folder has such a pretty and subtle pattern, it makes a great background and fast became one of my favorites.

Products uses on this card:
Filigree Eight Point Star die set
Bold Blooms die set
Orange Peel Quilt 3d embossing folder
Simply Perfect Mix & Match sentiment dies
Gold Mirror cardstock

Next up is a square card that uses the same die, but more in it's original configuration. I had fun mixing and matching the patterns with some solid blue pieces and outline.
Products uses on this card:
Filigree Eight Point Star die set
Bold Blooms die set
Be Bold Glimmer sentiment set
Matte Gold Foil

Christmas Flourish Collection Noel and Sugarplum Tweet cards

Hi everyone! I am super excited to share a few cards using the new Christmas Flourish collection by Spellbinders designed by Becca Feeken. The collection has 7 die sets and 1 embossing folder. I have 2 cards to share today and stay tuned for a few more!

First up is a mini slimline card using the Noel Mini Slimline Frame die set. I love the shape of the dotted frame and love that it has a smaller stand alone tag die that can either fit in the middle or be used by itself. I cut the dotted frame from white cardstock and backed it with black for a fun pop. The tag is also cut from white and I popped it up on foam squares and decorated it with some flowers, a flourish, the sentiment and some red gems. This card is actually pretty simple to make and flat for mailing.

Products used on this card:
Gold String

Next up is a card using the adorable Sugarplum Tweets die set. These cute birdies comes with a few tiny sized elements to decorate them with and sentiment dies that inlay the words into the cardstock. I added a bit of sparkle to each birdie by using some glitter foam for the tails and wings. I love the tiny holly berries and leaves -so darling! This is another card that ended up being flat for mailing.

Spellbinders April release projects

Hi everyone! The Spellbinders April 2022 New Release is available today and I am excited to share a few projects with 2 of the of the 5 new collections!!
In addition to the collections, there are NEW cardstock colors and some GLITTER foam sheets as well. So much good stuff!

I am showcasing sets from these new collections:

Through The Garden Gate Collection designed by Susan Tierney-Cockburn

First up is a card using the Gardenia flower dies from Through the Garden Gate collection. Gardenias are one of my favorite flowers. They smell divine! Sadly they need full sun to grow and my house is in a shady spot with many old growth trees around, and I can only grow shade plants! But I digress...
The background is from the Skinny Stripe Background Glimmer plate and foiled in gold. I LOVE this background, be prepared to see many more cards using it!

To create the true gardenia flower look, the smallest center petals were die cut from ivory cardstock and I added some light yellow crystal gems. I added some veining to the petals using a dark green copic marker. See the flourishes I used? They were the negative pieces from the slimline border die I used on my last card. Love finding uses for those negative pieces! The Hugs sentiment die is from the Simply Perfect Mix & Match Sentiment die set.

Next up is a rainbow inspired Gardenia Slimline card. This card uses the Half Slimline Diamond die set from Becca's collection and I used the Gardenia flowers again, this time I took a whimsy approach and inked them in rainbow colors!

***I reworked this card and posted it here. Check it out to see how I changed it!!***

I die cut the slimline die in white cardstock 2 times and adhered them on both sides of the card. I die cut the gardenias and inked each layer with a lighter touch as I got to the outer petals. I wanted the flowers smaller, so I skipped the last largest layer of petals. I added some DMC gold metallic thread and colorful gems as final accents.

And lastly, is a card using the Beeblossom flower die set from Susan's collection and I used Becca's Half Slimline Bracket die set on the left and right sides.

I admit I had no idea what a Beeblossom flower looked like and after googling them I found them to be very delicate and pretty. They are mostly pink and white and have several varieties. For the flowers, I die cut them in white cardstock and blended some pink at the outer edges. For the stamens, I cut them in white and dipped the ends in a yellow ink and then added yellow stickles. I also hand cut a few of them in half to make them fluffier. For the leaves, I gave scored and made a small fold down the center and used a copic marker and added some details.
The For You sentiment die is from the Simply Perfect Mix & Match Sentiment dies.

I inlaid the bracket border die and cut it 2 times, one on each side of the cardstock. I carefully lined them up so they were symmetrical! But if you're off slightly, don't worry the Beeblossom bloom would cover it up and it wouldn't be noticeable. A few Gold Pearl accents finish the card.

Lovely Lady Spellbinders Glimmer Lady Bug

Hi everyone! Today I'm here with a super clean and simple card. This one features the adorable lady bug from the Lovely Ladybug Glimmer set designed by Becca Feeken.

I used black foil with the ladybug body and wings and the sentiment. The set has 5 glimmer plates (ladybug, wings, 2 sentiments and a lovely leaf print background) and has 2 dies, one for the ladybug and 1 for her wings. I was nervous at first foiling on the red color cardstock, but it turned out perfect! Maybe cause it was a small enough glimmer die. I've tried on a larger scale and didn't have as much luck.
I kept things super clean with a few circle frames and a couple white flowers from my favorite floral die set, Be Bold Blooms. **This set is sold out, but you can let Spellbinders know you want it and be notified when it comes back in stock. The stitched panel is from My Favorite Things, their A2 Stitched Rectangles set.
See how the sentiment is die cut out? I cut the sentiments from a MUST HAVE stand alone die set from Gina K Designs called Sentiment Strips. It's a set of 7 and they are the perfect sizes for all the sentiments in your stash!
