Spooky

Hi everyone!  Long time no post!  Things have been pretty crazy around here with back to school AND we are rebuilding our back porch (which hasn't been going smoothly).  So it's no surprise my mojo has gone AWOL.  I decided to jump back into stamping with a simple card using my much neglected Unity Stamps and play along with Friends with Flair! 

I have seen this layout using washi tape all around the galleries and thought it would be perfect for this cute little bat.  These tapes are from a Halloween pack from A|Muse!  The stamps are from Unity's August 2012 KOM and I also played along with the CAS-ual Fridays challenge CFC69, which was to emboss.  I heat embossed the bat image and the sentiment.

Shades of yellow accordion flowers

Hi everyone!  I have a double challenge card to share today.  I combined the sketch from this week's Fall to Layout with CAS-ual Fridays "Mostly Monochromatic" challenge (to use 3 shades of the same color + brown).  I should note that my flowers were a bit too big to put my sentiment at the bottom, so I adjusted the sketch a bit.

I made these accordion flowers by die cutting with the Spellbinders Picot Edge Circles. I scored at each point, made a slit 1/2 way to the center and folded along the lines like an accordion. It takes 2 circles to make 1 flower.  The pattern paper is the fabulous Alla Prima by Prima. LOVE this paper pad (I used it on my Lace inspiration card from yesterday)!! The flower centers are 2-toned open roses glued to little brown circles.
