Hi everyone! I'm popping in today with a simple birthday card which features a Camellia, one of the new gorgeous flower dies from The Victorian Garden collection designed by Susan Tierney-Cockburn for Spellbinders. This die set makes the most beautiful camellias! And they are easy to put together.
The subtle background is from the chevron border die that is part of the Bunch of Borders die set. I die cut it 2 times with white cardstock and then in an alternating pattern, I colored the inserts with a RV00 Copic, added Twinkle Stickles and kept one plain white.
To make my Camellia, I die cut the flower and leaves with white cardstock and then colored the smallest petals with the same RV00 Copic marker. I didn't use the largest set of petals to keep the flower smaller in scale for my card. I colored the leaves with Copics and then to get the shine (Camellia leaves are shiny), I pressed them in clear pigment ink and heat embossed with clear powder.
For the finishing touches, I stamped the sentiment and added a single yellow gem to the center of the flower.
Supplies used on this card:
Spellbinders Essential Sentiments stamp set (retired)
Copic markers in RV00, G28, YG67

Lovely card! I really love the font of the sentiment. Is that computer generated?
