Stamp Simply Ribbon Store GRAND OPENING!

Hi everyone!  Welcome to the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store GRAND OPENING blog hop!  It's been slow in coming, but we are finally ready to celebrate!  We have a total of 5 designers sharing projects with you today, a fun progressive Blog Candy offering (read below for details) and LOTS of great items are on sale in the store in the SPECIALS Section -- Spellbinders, JustRite and tons of papers!!

AND be sure to check out the gorgeous new products by Prima, Webster's Pages, Melissa Frances, Bo Bunny, Cosmo Cricket, Kaisercraft, LaBlanche, and Pink Paislee to name a few -- not to mention the large selection of May Arts ribbons.

My cards today focus on the new Cosmo Cricket products!  Oh yeah, I sure LOVES me some Cosmo Cricket and every release captures my heart!

First up, I used the Upcycle papers, Glubers, twill ribbon, KaiserCraft pearls and the sentiment is from JustRite, All Occasion Nested Sentiments.
My next card uses the Cosmo Salt Air paper, Prima Fairytale flowers, Wrinkled ribbon and JustRite Stampers You Inspire Me set.
And last, but not least, my last card uses more Cosmo Salt Air paper, Glubers, a Prima Fairytale flower, this time I ruffled some satin edged grosgrain ribbon to make my flower embellishment with a tiny bit of crocheted lace looped under, more Kaiser Pearls, and the sentiment is from JustRite Stampers set, Heart to Heart.
So, Glubers are basically a super huge flat glue dot.  The package has 3 sizes: 4", 2.5" and 2".  Here are a couple pictures when I made my first Glubers flower (I used the 2" size).  Start rolling the ribbon from the center of the Gluber.  When you finish "rolling and sticking" your ribbon down, tuck the end under the gluber to glue it down (see the second pic).  However, that part will not be sticky to the paper, so add a dab of glue to it before you stick the Gluber to the paper.
P.S. see my fancy Photoshop work with the arrow? lol!

Now on to the BLOG CANDY:
The BLOG CANDY offered for the Grand Opening Blog Hop will be an assortment of ribbon from The Stamp  Simply Ribbon Store -- and HOW MUCH ribbon you might receive is totally up to YOU!  Here's how it'll work:

The winner will be selected by random.org from the Registered Customers of The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, so if you have not created an account yet, now is the time to do so!  You can create your account here.

The winner selected will receive a BASE amount of $25 to apply towards ribbon of their choice.  But the potential for much more is available:

1)  If the winner has made a purchase from The  Stamp Simply Ribbon Online Store since it's opening and at any time prior to the drawing, then another $10 will be added.

2)  If the winner has subscribed to the Newlsetter when they opened their account, another $10 will be added.

3)  Another $10 will be added for EACH BLOG in this hop that the winner has commented on.  There are a total of 5 of us hopping, so if you comment on all blogs, that's another $50 added to your ribbon package.

If the winner has met all the above qualifications, the total ribbon package will be worth $95 -- all ribbon -- your choice!!!

The winner will be drawn at 6 p.m. EST on Wednesday, April 4 and will be announced on Sharon's Blog sometime Thursday morning.

Gina K Designs Inspiration Blog Hop: Day 3

Hi everyone!  Welcome to Day 3 of the Gina K Designs Inspiration Blog Hop!  Today is the final day and we are sharing projects from the cutie set, What's the Dirt?.
My card today is a bit on the simple side.  I kind of ran out of steam, so I flipped through some of my older cards and found these and decided to case them.  Yeah, this is a little trick I do when I am short on time or mojo.  Hey, you don't have to reinvent the wheel with every card, right?
For even more samples of these new sets, you can visit each of the GKD Design Team blogs listed below, and make sure you leave a comment on each of the blogs because we're giving away some stamps!  One lucky reader will win a stamp set valued up to $23.95.

Gina
will choose the winners from all of the blogs combined so the more blogs you comment on, the better your chances! The winners will be announced on Gina's blog tomorrow morning.  Good luck!

Thank you for stopping by!  I will leave you with a close up picture.  Be sure to check out my blog candy post, it is open to all!
Card Deets:

Gina K Release Inspiration Blog Hop: Day 2

Hi everyone!  Welcome to day 2 of the Gina K Designs Release Inspiration Blog hop!  Today we are spotlighting the sets, Follow Your Dreams illustrated by Theresa Momber, and Branching Out illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger.  Both are stunning sets and I just know you will love them!

First up is my card with Follow Your Dreams.  I went a bit shabby chic with my cards today.  It's funny, I really have to force myself to sponge my cards.  My sponging is so tiny compared to real shabby chic card makers!  I even busted out the sewing machine on this one.
Next up is a card using Branching Out.  I love the versatility of this set.  I used this week's Stamp TV sketch challenge for this card.  Yeah, I just have a thing for circle cards!
For even more samples of these new sets, you can visit each of the GKD Design Team blogs listed below, and make sure you leave a comment on each of the blogs because we're giving away some stamps!  Two lucky readers will each win two stamp sets of their choice along with a surprise embellishment pack including ribbons, buttons and more!

Gina will choose the winners from all of the blogs combined so the more blogs you comment on, the better your chances! The winners will be announced on Gina's blog tomorrow morning.  Good luck!
Thank you for stopping by!  I will leave you with some close up pictures.  Be sure to check out my blog candy post, AND come back tomorrow for Day Three of the Inspiration Hop!

Some Blog Candy to share

Hi everyone!  I am happy to have some blog candy to share today.  When I was at the Spellbinders retreat, I was given a couple items that I already had.  Sooooo, I checked with Spellbinders and was given the go ahead to give them away as blog candy!  So here they are -woohoo!

My first giveaway is the CUTEST baby Shapeabilities set called, New Arrival!  A-DOR-ABLE, don't ya think?  This set has 5 dies and is perfect for all your baby themed projects.  Cute cute cute!

The next giveaway is the Scor-Bug.  I love this little tool!  You use it with your Scor-Pal to make little embossing dots (instead of an embossed line with the scor-tool).  I also added some Memory Box paper pads I have in my stash -Jubilee, Fernbrae, and Gossamer.  I love these papers, but alas, I have TOOOO much right now.  These pads are missing some papers, but there's plenty left and they need a loving home.  (I hope it's not weird to give away partially used paper packs?)
So leave me a comment on this post and I will randomly pick TWO winners on Wednesday the 27th.  You don't have to be a follower or anything, just say HI!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Gina K Designs Release Inspiration Hop: Day 1

Hi everyone!  Welcome to Day One of the Gina K Designs Release Inspiration hop!  Today we are spotlighting Garden Silhouettes, this month's One Free with 3 set AND Timeless Textures.

First up, is the bright happy circle card that I posted yesterday, but for those of you just hopping by today -it will be new to you.  I inked the flower bloom and stems with 2 little ColorBox cat eyes inks (they are the perfect size for doing this) and the pattern paper is Echo Park Springtime.  For the card base, I used a 5x5 square card that I bought in a pack of 5 (with envies) for $1 at my LSS.  I used the Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities to cut it into the large circle card base.
Next I have a card using both sets.  I LOVE the delicate pattern of this background stamp from Timeless Textures and thought it would be perfect against this flower.  AND in looking around the other girls hopping today, I'm not the only one-lol!  Once again, I inked up the flower stamp with 2 colors.  For the white frame panel, I used the Spellbinders Long Rectangles die templates and embossed around the image.  I've never done this technique before, but at the Spellbinders retreat I was shown how, and sure enough, it's easier than I thought.
Tip: when doing embossing with the Spellbinders die templates and Gina K stamps, I find it easier to stamp the image first, then position the die around the image and tape it down to secure it in place.  You could emboss the frame first and use your Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the image, but I find it easier to just tape the die template down.

For even more samples of these new sets, you can visit each of the GKD Design Team blogs listed below.  Make sure you leave a comment here and on each of their blogs because Gina is going to draw two randomly chosen winners from all of the blog comments, and each will get a stamp set of their choice valued at up to $24.95!  Gina will announce the winners on her blog tomorrow.
Thank you for stopping by!  I will leave you with a couple close up pictures.  Be sure to stop by Saturday as I will have a little blog candy to share, AND come back Monday for Day Two of the Inspiration Hop!

Long time no post

Hi everyone!  Long time no post, right?  Well, after I returned from the Spellbinders DT retreat, I promptly got a nasty cold which thru a monkey wrench in things -lol!  Anyway, the retreat was AMAZING!  Seriously words can't describe AMAZING!  I loved getting to meet all the fabulous ladies on the design team (you can find all their links in the page on my tab bar) and especially ALL the amazing ladies that are Spellbinders™ Paper Arts -Stacey, Kim, Beth and Cathy!

Several of you have left me comments and emails about how excited you are all about seeing my Spellbinders projects.  Well...I found out that I won't actually GET to share my projects on my blog.  Yep, turns out that when the DT makes projects they are to be sent in to be used in ads, trade shows, HSN or other TV spots and the like.  How cool is that?  But, never fear, you know I use Spellbinders die templates on almost every card I make, so you will get to see PLENTY of Spellbinders goodness!

So in honor of the amazing time I had at the retreat, I though it would be kinda fun to share a couple Spellbinders fun facts I discovered with you:
1.  Stacey came up with the name Spellbinders from her scrapbooking experience "SPELL your story; BIND it together"
2.  Spellbinders holds 4 US patents
3.  Spellbinders was started in 2003, yep, they have been around longer than you thought
4.  Spellbinders has the only die template on the market that does 3 things: cut, emboss and stencil!  The embossing is patent protected.
5. The Grand Calibur™ die cutting maching currently the largest die cutting plates in the market at 8 1/2" x 11"

Here are a couple pictures I took from the retreat.  You can see more pics and details on the Spellbinders blog post here.
Here is me and my table partner, Tina
Here is me and my roommate, Gloria.  In the background, you can see Windy and Tonya on the left and Michelle Emerson-Roberts on the right.
This pic was taken of me and Lesley just before we left
Before I go, I have a couple "just for fun" cards to share.  I got this super cute set, Forest Friends from The Greeting Farm almost a year ago and NEVER used it!  TRAGEDY!  So, just before I left for Phoenix, I made these using the adorable owl.  I cased both of these cards from cards I made in the past -a favie trick of mine when I am in a hurry.  I colored the owls with copic markers and used the Standard Circles LG and SM Nestabilities on these.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Beautiful birthday card

Hi everyone!  I have a quick card to share then I resume packing for my trip to Phoenix for my Spellbinders Retreat!  I leave tomorrow morning and am super excited!!  My youngest SOOO wants to come with me -he has never been on a plane and it didn't help that he saw me pack Red Vines, lol!

This card uses the new StampTV kit, Springtime Silhouettes.  LOVE this set!  I used a marker for the flower portion and inked the stems with Old Olive.  Then I "stamped off" the image a second time and used it as a soft background for the sentiment.  The paper is from the Webster's Pages Garden Gala triple pack.  I just love using the delicate 1/4" silk ribbon this color is champagne and it is my FAVIE!!   The rhinestones and tiny flower are from Pizzazz Aplenty
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  See you when I get back next week.  I'll leave you with a close up picture.
Card Deets:
Stamps - Springtime Silhouettes (GKD)
Ink - Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and Brocade blue marker
Paper - PL Cream cardstock (GKD), Webster's Pages PP

Hellooooo Spellbinders!

Hi everyone!  I am so excited -my term with Spellbinders officially starts today!  Woohoo!  If you are coming to my blog for the first time -welcome, welcome, welcome!  I am super excited to have you here and I encourage you to take a look around (yeah, I have a little thing for Edward Cullen).

For those of you who have been here before, did you notice my new blog redesign?  I had to celebrate today with a new banner and look from my friend Heather Rolin.  How amazing is this?  She completely nailed what I wanted.  Thanks Heather, you did a fabulous job and put up with all my tweekings with such patience and grace!

So, I thought I would share with you a couple of my favie cards using Spellbinder CIRCLE DIES.  Why chose cards with circles?  Well, on our Bio questions, the DT were asked what our favorite Spellbinders product was.  I quickly answered CIRCLE dies -cause I loves me some circles!  They are so classic, clean and versatile.  Check out some fun stuff you can do with circle dies.
And now for something different.  Here is a scrap page I did.  For Round One of the Spellbinders DT search, I was asked to make a scrap page.  After a minor panic attack, I picked out some cutie picture of my boys and went to work.  Here is what I came up with.
Thank you so much for stopping by!  I look forward to sharing my Spellbinders projects throughout the year.  I leave Wednesday morning for my Spellbinders Retreat and Orientation in Phoenix (helloooo sunshine).  I'll be taking lots of pictures and I'll be sure to post some when I return!  Have a great day.
