Hi everyone! Welcome to the May Stamp Simply Ribbon Store DT blog hop! Today's hop is the Simply Shabby blog hop and we were all asked to make projects with a touch of shabby. Hey, this I can do! A little sponging, edge distressing and maybe some stitching and BAM! Shabby chic!
This first card uses a Flowers Cotton Scrap from Crafty Secrets. I think Cotton Scraps are perfect for the shabby chic style, don't you? I paired this lovely sunflower image with some Pink Paislee 365 Degrees paper.
See the crocheted lace? I threaded it with a piece of 1/8" silk ribbon. WOWEEEE! I love this look!! I totally cased the idea from the fabulous Deb and Sharon! Aren't they clever? The sentiment is the word "smile" inked up from a JustRite sentiment from the set, Seeds of Kindness. That's a little trick I do when I only have a small tag for the sentiment.
Since I had my cream cardstock and Top Note die out, I made another card with them! This time I made a horizontal card with cool layout I saw on Amy's blog. OK, confession time. I don't know which Amy. Yep, it's either Amy Rysavy or Amy Rohl! I jotted down the sketch and the name Amy and that's all. Anyway, it's a cool sketch, huh? Sigh... I need to get more organized!
I used some of the Thrift Shop papers from October Afternoon. Collective sigh on how beautiful these papers are!! I thought they went nicely with the JustRite set, A Little Caffeine.
See the pearls on the corner? They don't normally come in that color, but I took a Copic marker to the Blush pearls and made them match the button! Viola! Here is a pic showing that.
There is a wonderful prize up for grabs for one lucky commenter along the this Simply Shabby hop. Be sure to check out all the DT projects and leave a little love, you may be the lucky one!! Sharon is offering up her wonderful K and Company Blue Awning kit! A value of $45!!! At 6 p.m. EST on Friday, May 14 one of our 7 blogs will be selected and the winner will be chosen by Random.org.
