It's an October Afternoon

Please scroll down or click here for my Simply Shabby blog hop post.

Hi everyone!  It's really not October, but since I had a chance to play with my October Afternoon paper pads, I went with it!  LOL!  Hey, did any of you see the movie Couples Retreat with Vince Vaughn?  The movie opens with his little boy crawling into bed with him and promptly announcing, "I peed".  Well, that's how my morning started out!  So I wanted to brighten up my day by playing around with some OA papers from Fly a Kite and Thrift Shop.

My first card follows the Card Patterns 63 sketch.  I am lovin' all the cards I have been seeing around with the ruffled ribbon look, so I thought I would give it a try.  It was really easy.  Ashley has a super tutorial you can see here.  Easy peasy!  The sentiment is from Verve's Wishing You set and all the papers on this card are from Fly a Kite.  The flower blossom was made from the Blossom Nestabilities and the little pearl accents are from Zva Creative's Pearl Wheel.

My next card is an easy CAS card.  I used a premade card base, added 2 strips of pattern paper, some die cut letters and a ruffled some ribbon.  This ribbon is the 1/2" Wrinkled  ribbon from the Stamp Simply Ribbon store.  It is very thin and SUPER easy to layer and play with.  LOVE it!!  The flower blossom was made from the PTI Beautiful Blooms II die #1 and the sentiment is from SU!'s Many Thanks Sizzlet.

The buttons on both of these cards are vintage from my granny's tin.  I sooo love going through her old tins, sorting them by color and size.  One day I will show you a picture of them all.  Happy sigh...

Stuff and stuff:
-Ippity Stamps has released their Spring Collection of 10 stamp sets!  Details can be found on my Ippity Sales Blog

-My BFF Rachel is closing her store, Hope Stamps Eternal.  There is a HUGE going out of business sale of 45% off storewide.  Everything is going fast, so check it out while you can.

-Sharon has introduced a new Stamp Simply Store Kit!  AND it uses none other than October Afternoon, Thrift Store paper!!!  Woohoo!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great afternoon!
