Hi everyone! Today's card was VERY different for me. I stepped way outside my box and I am still not sure how I like it, but after 2 days of futzing here it is. I did some water coloring using water color pencils and Gelatos AND built a mini scene within a shaker card. Water color and scene building? Who me? Yep!
You should have seen my attempts to water color backgrounds -yeah it was pretty bad. So rather than coloring the entire background, I settled on die cutting water color paper into grass and cloud shapes and water colored those. This was a more "clean" approach to water coloring and suited my style (and talent level) better.
My card features one of the Die D-Lite dies called Delightful Tree, which I die cut in green, cut the birds in blue, birdhouse in brown and added some hot pink gems for a pop of color.
Thanks to the suggestions of my lovely readers after my last shaker card, I made this shaker card differently and it was easier! I bought some adhesive backed foam at Michaels and die cut and trimmed it to fit almost the size of my card front. TIP: when die cutting foam, don't use the regular sandwich with the Grand Calibur, instead use the cutting plate and the pink embossing plate. Using the regular sandwich compressed the foam to 1/2 the thickness!

I adhered the foam to my card base, "built" the scene inside and filled it with my sequins and beads. I strategically glued some sequins and leaving the rest loose to shake around. Next I adhered the acetate paper behind my frame and glued everything down. Lastly I adhered my tree on top of the window.
Here is a pic of my window before the tree. You can see which sequins I glued down, the others are behind the grass.
