Spellbinders is thrilled to introduce a new line of Edgeabilities® die templates! The new Edgeabilities come in sets of three, and include one Edger for beautifully detailed edge cutting and embossing, and two Decorative Inserts for sophisticated cut and embossed border lines. Mix and match between sets for maximum versatility. The six themed sets combine for over 70 design options!
And you can learn more about our new Edgeabilities dies on this video:
I’m thrilled to share two projects using Classic Triple Scallop Edgeabilities and Tear Drop Circles Nestabilities® with you.
My first project is a Wedding Box I created by altering a clear box using my assigned die templates, GCD Studio pattern paper from the
Ella Blue collection and a Gina K Designs image from the
With This Ring stamp set.
Here is a close up of the decorative strip.
To make the decorative strip, I started by taping the Edger die template (this is the die with the long cut line) to the top of the pattern paper and lining up the Decorative Insert die template just below it.
After the initial cut, I kept the Decorative Insert die template in place and moved the Edger die template to the opposite side.
Once the first section is cut, you move die templates down the paper and repeat the process. The Edgeabilities die templates were designed to easily continue the pattern to cut 12x12 paper.
Next, I cut and adhered small pieces of
F-012 Precious Metals Foil to cover the Decorative Insert pattern. I then embossed the strip (without the die template) using the tan mat 2 pieces of cardstock as shims.
Note: Be sure to adhere these to the BACK side of your strip and double check that the color of foil you want shows through. Put the tan mat on the foil side.
This is what it looks like from the front.
Here are all the
S4-344 Tear Drop Circles die templates I used on this project.
E8-003 Classic Triple Scallop Edgeabilities
MSRP: $19.99
DIE SIZES:
Edger: 1/2 x 8"
Decorative Inserts: Four Petal Flower: 3/4 x 8", Three Petal Flower 5/8 x 8"
S4-344 Tear Drop Circles Nestabilities
MSRP: $24.99
DIE SIZES:
1. 7/8"
2. 1 7/8"
3. 2 7/8"
4. 4"
My second project shows the Edgeabilities die templates creating a decorative bottom edge on a card.
I cut and embossed the bottom edge on my 5.5" x 4.25" card base.
Since the cutting edge on the Edger die template is very small, you retain the basic card size.
Next, I cut, embossed, and layered the
S4-344 Tear Drop Circles and used a
Dainty Doily stamp from Waltzingmouse Stamps. I think it's a perfect match as they are very reminiscent of doilies in my opinion!
