My projects are also a sample for this week's H{ippity} Hop challenge brought to you by Lisa, which is to make a birthday card. We all can use these on hand right? Perfect challenge! Use keyword: IHHC9 when uploading to SCS.
My first card uses the frame and sentiment from Ippity Stamps Just Wanted to Say. I used some of my Basic Grey, Origins which was a perfect match for my new green twill ribbon from Sharon's Stamp Simply store. I have long been admiring how Amy does all her ribbon treatments, and decided to give this pleated look a try. I used my Score-Pal tape to make them, I guess I could have sewn across the middle, but I couldn't figure out how to do that! ***sigh... baby steps***
The darling little stick pens are from Fancy Pants that I got on clearance after Easter last year!! First time using them and I like how it turned out. I have a "thing" about leaving the pointy part of the pens just hanging out, but it's how everyone else is using these, so I guess it's OK, right?
So, while I was browsing around Amy's blog... I made my next card which is a shameless CASE of this beautiful card. I absolutely LOVE her layout and use of the lace trim! I used my Basic Grey, Nook and Pantry and ivory lace trim (again from Sharon's Stamp Simply Store).
Man, I love the elegant look of the Labels Four dies from Spellbinders, but never use them. I have to scour the galleries more for ideas, cause they sure are purty! I cut up some of my soft blue Zva Creative pearl flourish as accents. I am kinda challenged on using them in their "flourish" form, but cutting them up works great too-LOL!
A big thank you to everyone who entered for my blog candy! It seems by a landslide, Dawn McVey and Nicole Heady are DEFINITELY stamping IDOLS!! P.S. they are mine too!!
And now on to the BLOG CANDY WINNER...
