Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing another pink Christmas card. I have several friends who do up a pink Christmas tree and each year I give them pink Christmas cards. My card uses some of the Glimmer for the Holidays collection by Spellbinders.
The beautiful Glimmer Plate is the Full Bloom Poinsettia and it has a coordinating Layering Stencil set!! and I used gold foil. I stenciled the poinsettia with 3 of pink inks and used cool toned greens for the holly and sprigs. I realized I din't have the right tone of brown ink for the pine cone, so I took a few copic markers and went over the ink just enough to make it a bit cooler.
The shape of the card was made with the Notched Corner Frames die set which is part of the BetterPress Fall collection (check out my blog post for 2 card samples with that collection). I love making shaped cards, they have such a WOW factor when you give them away.
To get some some extra depth to the poinsettia, I inked and fussy cut the top 2 layers of poinsettia petals from a second flower and added them with foam tape. For those of us who made cards before coordinating dies were invented, this is the familiar old way to get a layered dimensional look on our flowers!
Supplies used on this card:
Gold gems from stash
Gina K Designs ink in Bubblegum Pink, Passionate Pink, Christmas Pine and Lucky Clover
Catherine Pooler ink in Flirty Fuchsia
