Hi everyone! Today sharing 3 cards using Spellbinders March 2023 Small Die of the Month called Punch and Pierce Borders. This die set features
a 5 dies that inlay a delicate design and 3 cut line dies to cut them out and create your borders.
For my first
card, I die cut 2 designs into the card front. I then took a full size light aqua cardstock and adhered it on the inside. I love how this almost creates an aqua lace effect. Next I die cut the Sealed Blooms in white and colored the leaves and stems with Copics (G21 and YG61). I then die cut the flower blooms and centers from aqua cardstock and layered them over the white flower base.
Oh you noticed the wax seal? Yep. I finally
jumped on the Wax Seal trend and wow is it fantastic. Spellbinders has an entire collection called Sealed by Spellbinders which is fabulous, but don't sleep on some wax products on Amazon they have some good deals as well! The seal was made from
shimmer teal beads and stamped with the Wildflower Happy Birthday seal,
highlighted with a metallic gold pen. There is a learning curve, so be
prepared to try several times at first to get the hang of it. Using the metallic pen was a challenge, it is easy to flood your wax seal details, so I ended up blotting the pen on a paper towel first to make sure I could control the amount of ink.
Next are 2 4"x4" cards, each of these use the same technique of die cutting into the card front and layering a colored cardstock behind the panel on the inside to allow the colors to pop through. So soft and pretty!
Each of these use foiled sentiments from my stash. I've mentioned before, but foiling in batches and storing the sentiments is a game changer! I mostly focus on Thank you and Birthday cards because that's what my family requests from me the most. These soft pretties will be claimed by my sister immediately!
