Gina K December release inspiration blog hop: Day 1

Hi everyone!  Hi everyone!!  Welcome to Day 1 of the Gina K Designs December Release Inspiration Blog hop!  Today we are spotlighting the sets, Stately Flowers 2 and Mountain Wilderness, both illustrated by Theresa Momber and Melanie Muenchinger respectively.

First up is a card using Mountain Wilderness illustrated by Theresa.  This set is perfect for making cards for the men in your life.  My dad is an outdoors man big time and I can see using this set for his cards all year round. This card is also for the SCS CAS150 challenge, to make a card with a "window" element on it.
And here is the inside.  I really love the vertical greetings in this set.  They are unusual and give different options.
Next, is my card using Stately Flowers 2 illustrated by Melanie.  This is the second in a series of stamp sets profiling all the states and their official flowers.  This set includes Missouri, Nebraska, Kentucky and Alabama.  My card uses the Missouri State Hawthorn lightly colored with copics.  I haven't had a chance to use the Spellbinders Blossom Four Nestabilities, and I think the shape compliments this image nicely, don't you?  The strip of pattern paper is from Basic Grey, Picadilly 6x6 pad, it matches the Soft Sand cardstock I used for the base.
You know it's funny, I made these 2 cards days apart and didn't realize until typing this that they would be posted on the same day.  They turned out very similar.  Weird huh?  (well, to me anyway, lol!!)

Anyway, for even more samples of these new sets, you can visit each of the GKD Design Team blogs listed below.  Make sure you leave a comment here and on each of their blogs because Gina is going to draw two randomly chosen winners from all of the blog comments, and each will receive a fabulous grab bag of stamps!  Gina will announce the winners on her blog tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by!  I will leave you with a close up picture.  Be sure to come back Monday when we showcase 2 more sets!!

  40. Aloha Michelle,
Yes, your cards did end up having similar elements, but the outcomes were different! I can feel the manliness and the femininity of each separate card! Funny how that turns out sometimes! But both - lovely!
