My card uses the fun A Little Caffeine set! It's no secret that I am a coffee lover. I drink coffee aaaaaaall day long and I LOVE LOVE this set. The pattern paper is from October Afternoon, Thrift Shop. Double sigh, these papers ROCK!! The fun bright ribbon is the 3/8" yellow gingham. Isn't this ribbon, happy-happy-joy-joy?!?
I have been asked from time to time how I do the ruffled ribbon treatment, so I thought I would take a few pictures while I was making this card.
I use Score Tape to adhere the ribbon and it works amazingly! It is pretty inexpensive and the roll is HUGE! Sharon sells all the sizes on her Tools page (scroll down towards the bottom). Score tape is clear, so I left the white backing on so you could see it in the picture. I run the tape end to end just to make sure the ribbon is secure on the ends.
I start by tacking one end down, and then using my paper piercer I pull up the ribbon to make the loops.
Pull up, tack down, pull up, tack down. Random spacing and I angle it slightly as I go along.
A little trick I use to allow bows or flowers lie flat on the card is to leave a flat space between ruffles.
See??
