Rustic Garden Barrel Planters card

 Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing another card using one of the die sets in the Country Road collection by Spellbinders. This card uses the fun Rustic Garden die set with all the flowers from the Garden Builder die set. The card layout is from this week's Freshly Made Sketches #587. It's a fun one!

I have 2 half barrels with flowers in my backyard, so the barrel dies in this set really spoke to me and I knew I had to them. I searched on Pinterest on ideas how to decorate my barrels and saw some bright fuchsia and blue pansies that jumped out at me. These flower dies are not pansies, but they still look wonderful in those bright colors!

Do you notice the soft subtle clouds in the background? I achieved that by die cutting some cloud dies and stenciling over them with Broken China Distress Oxide ink. This is the first time I've done this and I love how it looks!

Thank you cards from Spellbinders Just Wanted to Say collection

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing a few more cards I made with Spellbinders new Just Wanted to Say collection. This collection was released in June and I forgot to share these cards with you! My first card features one of the cutie birdie die sets and one of the new 3D Embossing folders. I gotta say I love this sweet little Chickadee die set! I added touches of white gel pen to his wings to give him pops of white. I snuck in a single bloom from my favorite Be Bold Blooms die set!

This next card also used the Beveled Diamond 3D folder, but in a different way. I embossed white cardstock and then blended some distress oxide inks on it. I then coordinated the blooms with the ink. I combined 2 Glimmer sentiment sets for the sentiment. I do my hot foiling in batches and then pick and chose what works with my project. Way more efficient that way.

Clean and Simple cards

Hi everyone! Today I am sharing a few cards I've made these last few weeks. Like many, after the holidays I went into a bit of a stamping slump, but found my way back after one of my crafty besties, Katie and me started to FaceTime in the craft room! It's been great for both of us. We get to craft together and still have all our stuff -lol!

First up is a fun distress oxide blended panel over a white embossed image. This was a bit out of my comfort zone, but Katie challenged me to ink blend and I went for it!

Next up is a super CAS card which ended up being one the most favorite card I've made in a long time!

Water coloring with Distress Inks

Hi everyone!  I have a quick and easy coffee card to share today.  Full confession, I bought a fancy water color palette, and I'm embarrassed to admit that I'm intimidated by it! Honestly, I open it up and unless the exact color in the palettes are exactly what I want, I'm a bit lost.

SO... I'm in the process of starting an online water color class to help me with mixing colors and learn the basics.

But in the meantime, using  distress inks is a super easy way to water color images.

OK, this is nothing new and I've even done this before, but I need to remember it more often! Just tap your ink pad on a solid surface and spritz with water. Dip your brush and start coloring.

For my card, I stamped the coffee word cloud sentiment on water color paper twice using my mini Misti, wet my piece of water color paper, then dropped (painted) in some of the ink.

After it dried, I die cut it into my cup shape, moving the die around until I got the perfect pattern of colors.

The stamp and die set is called A Cup of Java  and I used the smaller of the 2 java cup sizes on this card. I just LOVE that I found Prima flower in my stash that coordinates perfectly. I pulled off the center pearl that came with it and put in a yellow rhinestone instead. The black flourishes under the flower are actually made from the steam die in the Java die set!
