Sip Sip Hooray! Magical Color Changing cocktail card

 Hi everyone! I have another delicious card to share today using the new collection by Spellbinders called Happy Hour and I love it all! Happy Hour features 5 die sets, 1 3D embossing folder, 1 sentiment BetterPress plate, and 1 BetterPress background plate with coordinating layering stencils and last but not least a new rectangles and label die set. 💖

SUNSET IN A GLASS AND TROPICAL FLARE DIE SETS

 

My cards use the Sunset in a Glass and Tropical Flair die sets. I just love the shape of this glass, it's large enough to decorate in many ways. The set comes with dies to create a gorgeous sunset scene you have to check it out!

I wanted to come up with a fun fruity drink and my google search showed drinks called Magical Color Changing Cocktails. They are SO colorful and beautiful I had to recreate one 😍

The background is embossed with the now retired Orange Peeled Quilt 3D Embossing folder and I inked the edges with a little of the Peacock Feathers. The sentiment is from the Cheers Sentiment BetterPress plate from the collection and I foiled it with Matte Silver onto glossy black cardstock. The set has sentiments perfect for birthdays, meeting for drinks, Christmas and Halloween.

CRAFT-A-FLOWER: SULFUR COSMOS DIE SET

 My card uses the gorgeous Sulfer Cosmos die set which is part of their Craft-A-Flower series. I looked up Sulfer Cosmo flowers and found out they are rich yellows, oranges and red colors. They are stunning!

I die cut the flowers and leaves from Bristol Smooth cardstock and ink blended colors on them. After I inked the petals and assembled the flowers, I used glitter brush markers to give a rich shimmer and dimension to them. I also added shimmer to the sentiment and leaves.

The background is the Circle Quilt Cover die cut from black cardstock adhered to a black card base. I added a couple Amber clear drops accents.

I don't make cards with black backgrounds often, but I love how this turned out!

Thank you cards from Spellbinders Just Wanted to Say collection

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing a few more cards I made with Spellbinders new Just Wanted to Say collection. This collection was released in June and I forgot to share these cards with you! My first card features one of the cutie birdie die sets and one of the new 3D Embossing folders. I gotta say I love this sweet little Chickadee die set! I added touches of white gel pen to his wings to give him pops of white. I snuck in a single bloom from my favorite Be Bold Blooms die set!

This next card also used the Beveled Diamond 3D folder, but in a different way. I embossed white cardstock and then blended some distress oxide inks on it. I then coordinated the blooms with the ink. I combined 2 Glimmer sentiment sets for the sentiment. I do my hot foiling in batches and then pick and chose what works with my project. Way more efficient that way.

Blue pansies with ink blending background

Hi everyone! I tried a little something different on today's card. I was inspired by all the monochromatic cards I've been seeing lately, so I pulled out my Floral Cluster Spring Pansies stamp set, stamped the flowers with blue ink and created a blue ink background.
I used my new Life Changing Brushes from Picket Fence Studios and did some ink blending with Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide ink. I have to say, the blending went pretty well vs. the old sponge daubers I used to use. I'm no pro either way, but it was a bit easier.

At the top ink blended portion, I splattered a bit of water to see the cool reaction it makes with the distress oxide ink. Then I mixed a few drops of water with the ink and splattered it on the panel, and added a few dark blue rhinestones at the flower centers. This one was quick and easy to make.
I could see making many more in a rainbow of colors! What a perfect little gift for someone.
