Hi crafty friends! I have another Altenew Ambassador card to share today. I used parts of the fabulous Craft Your Life Project kit: Chocolate Flowers. Altenew October Release and IG Giveaway

Hi crafty friends! The Altenew October release is live and I have a fun card using one of the new layering die sets. This release features watercolor tube colors, stamps, dies, embossing folders and MORE! 💖💖
Check out the card I made and scroll down for supply list and giveaway details.
My card uses the new Mix Foliage Layering die set which features 5 flowers, 5 branch and leaves creating charming daisy-type flowers. The set uses the Smart Keyhole system for layering!
To start my card, I used the Circle Quilt Cover die from white cardstock and adhered it to my card base and added black splatter. I die cut my flowers from 2 shades of peach cardstock and my leaves from blue. I added glitter marker to all my die cuts to keep everything extra sparkly!
The sentiment is from the Timeless Sentiment die set and I cut it 3 times from black glossy cardstock. I also die cut the flower centers with the same black glossy cardstock. I love how this turned out!!

Hi everyone! This is a throwback card I made last year using the stunning Altenew flower dies.
I wanted to post a reminder there is STILL TIME to enter my IG Giveaway sponsored by Altenew.

CRAFT-A-FLOWER: SULFUR COSMOS DIE SET

My card uses the gorgeous Sulfer Cosmos die set which is part of their Craft-A-Flower series. I looked up Sulfer Cosmo flowers and found out they are rich yellows, oranges and red colors. They are stunning!
I die cut the flowers and leaves from Bristol Smooth cardstock and ink blended colors on them. After I inked the petals and assembled the flowers, I used glitter brush markers to give a rich shimmer and dimension to them. I also added shimmer to the sentiment and leaves.
The background is the Circle Quilt Cover die cut from black cardstock adhered to a black card base.
I don't make cards with black backgrounds often, but I love how this turned out!

Flower Mini 3D Wax Seal Thinking of You Card

Hi crafty friends! I have a fun card to share today. Even though I no longer receive the Spellbinders Wax Seal of the Month club, I still really do love working with wax seals! And this month Spellbinders came out with MINI 3D wax seals and they are stunning! 3D wax seals really do have amazing depth.
The Mini 3D Wax Seals collection has 5 designs and I used the Flower Mini 3D wax seal for my card. These wax seal stamps are 1/2" in diameter, which is half the size of a standard wax seal. You only need to melt 2 wax beads for this size.
I wanted to branch out with different colors on this card, so I went with a few shades of orange. I thought the flower design wax seal would go perfectly on a flower card, so I pulled out my beloved Be Bold Blooms die set and started die cutting! For the background, I used my much neglected Zig Zag Chevron card front die and inlaid a few strips of a light and dark orange cardstock.
I had a few sentiments left over from the Crafty Hugs Sentiments and Thinking of You fit perfectly. Lastly, I added few gold pearls accents which complimented the gold pen accents on my wax seal. I love how this turned out!

I also wanted to let you know that the Spellbinders Weekender 2025 Craft Kit & Virtual Retreat is available NOW!! It's a 2-day crafty getaway on May 30-31st. It has a value of over $500 for the cost of $149, which is a better value than 2024.

Spellbinders Yana's Daisies Collection, Day 3 Inspiration

Hi crafty friends! I'm in my monochromatic era at the moment. The current Simon Says Challenge over on IG is to make monochromatic cards and I kinda ran with it! This is Day 3 of my inspiration of Yana Smakula's new collection with Spellbinders called Yana's Daisies, and today my card focuses on the Daisy Trio Press plate and stencil set.
Check it out and scroll down for the supply list.
DAISY TRIO BETTERPRESS AND STENCIL BUNDLE AND CRAFTY HUGS SENTIMENTS PRESS PLATES AND DIE SET

I used 3 of the 5 stencils, omitting the 2 stencils that color the petals. I love how there is a stencil that casts a shadow! I've not seen this before and it is gorgeous! I wanted to add a bit of color to the stems and centers while keeping things in the blue family, so I used a light blue/green ink.
To keep things blue, I added some glitter to the daisy petals using a Glitter Brush marker in Frosty Blue (which is a pale blue color) and added a few Fairy Drops to the centers.

Just in case you missed my first monochromatic card, I'll post it for you again.
This card was inked with a deep orange ink and had no stenciling.
What do you think? Do you like monochromatic cards? I love how these turned out!

Spellbinders DIY Color Deck System, Day 3 Inspiration

Hi crafty friends! Welcome to Day 3 of inspiration for the new DIY Color Deck system from Spellbinders. I have 2 more inspiration posts, you can find DAY 1 HERE and DAY 2 HERE.
Here is today's inspiration! Scroll down for supplies used.
I was drawn to the fun playful fish with pops of blue and oranges. The colors I chose were Indigo, Beeswax, Sicily, Malibu and Fog. And for my florals, I used another favorite die set, Vivid Blooms.
The DIY Color Deck Builder Bundle contains the DIY Color Deck, 1" square punch and the 8.5x11.5" Full ColorWheel cardstock assortment. You can also purchase each of these on their own. Here's another look at the system.
 Final thoughts:
After playing with the DIY Color Deck, I really do like it and I will definitely use the cards when I want some color inspiration. I DO own the Color Cubes and love them as well. For me, the main difference is with the Color Deck, I pick the cardstock swatches from MY OWN stash. Whereas sometimes with the Color Cube, I don't have the EXACT match to the colors shown on the card and having "matchitis" (the compulsion to have the exact match) I then move on to a different card.
Let me know your thoughts! What do you think of the Color Deck?

Spellbinders NEW LAUNCH DIY Color Deck, Day 1 Inspiration

Hi crafty friends! Spellbinders has launched a fun new color inspiration system called the DIY Color Deck. From the website: Make color your own with the new DIY Color Deck! Designed to inspire creativity, each of the 52 cards in the DIY Color Deck includes an image of a stunning art piece with 5 blank spaces for swatching custom color combinations. The other side of the cards feature fun facts, creative prompts and bonus education about color theory.

I enjoyed working with these cards WAY MORE than I expected. I had a lot of fun choosing cards to work with and picking out the colors for my swatches. Most of the photos have more than 5 colors to work with, giving them a lot of options. Here is today's inspiration! Scroll down for supplies used.
I was drawn to the crisp colors in this fruit bowl image. And I love how the photo prompted a color combination I would have never picked on my own. The colors I chose were Tuscan, Teal Topaz, Poppy, Fern and Raven.
The DIY Color Deck Builder Bundle is the DIY Color Deck, 1" square punch and the 8.5x11.5" Full Colorwheel cardstock assortment. You can also purchase each of these on their own. Here's a look at the system.
So what do you think? Do you like this concept? I think there is something to be said for having the actual photo in hand as a reference when choosing colors. Over the next few days I'll be sharing more inspiration so stay tuned!

SMALL DIE OF THE MONTH

This month's Small Die of the Month. The set is called Step Into Spring and features "ruby slipper" inspired shoes, legs with the options of decorative socks and some flowers.  The bold pink colors I used are from the new Colorwheel Cardstock collection in Orchid, Mulberry, Violet (Mulberry and Orchid are sold out on Spellbinders, but are in stock with Scrapbookcom). This trio of pinks is so pretty I just HAD to use them. I absolutely LOVE how this turned out. 😂

More Vivid Expressions, Hello Card and Tag

Hi crafty friends! Today I'm sharing another card and matching tag from the Vivid Expressions collection by Spellbinders 💙💜
***And for all you Winnie the Pooh fans, Spellbinders launched the Say Cheese Classic Pooh collection! It's fabulous and stay tuned for some inspiration using it soon!
Check out what I made and scroll down for complete product list.
VIVID BLOOMS DIES AND SWEEPING SCRIPTS SENTIMENTS PRESS PLATES

My card and tag use the Vivid Blooms die set and the Sweeping Script Sentiments press plates.
Both started with pressing the sentiments, Hello and You, in to white cardstock with Stone Blue ink. Because I wanted the sentiments offset at the bottom I pressed cardstock larger than needed so I could trim them at the right angle. I find this easier than trying to place the word on the plate backwards, kwim?
I added the flowers, ink splatter and gems around the sentiment. I love how this set turned out!

VIVID BLOOMS AND VIVID SCRIPTS SENTIMENTS DIE SETS

My card uses the Vivid Blooms, Vivid Scripts Sentiments and the Eyelet Scallop Border die sets from this collection as well as the Essential Arches die set.
For the background behind my Arch opening, I die cut the Eyelet Scallop Border 4 times and covered my card base. I thought they made a gorgeous back drop for these florals 💖 I love the way this turned out!

SBC Fest Day 2 inspiration - Thanks floral card

Hi everyone! I have a fun card to share. This weekend was the 5th annual SBC Fest hosted by Scrapbook.com. SBC Fest is a 2-day virtual papercrafting event with card making and scrapbooking classes by some of your favorite crafty instructors like Simon Hurley, Kristie Marcotte, Jamie Pate and more! The class videos are available FOREVER so if you can watch them any time at your convenience.
Here is a link to the SBC Fest page which shows each instructor, their class supplies list, and class homework. This is my 3rd year and I love to watch and play along with products I have in my stash.

As an affiliate, SBC gave me early access to the instructors cards and after seeing their projects and checking the class supply lists, I was excited to see I had the all the die sets that Erin Thompson used in her class! And you know I love me a floral die cut card. Be sure to catch her class on the replay! 💖
Here is my card inspired by her wonderful class project
SUNNY LANE FLORAL AND THANK YOU SENTIMENTS DIE SETS

I kept the basic layout of her card, sentiment and general flower placement. I changed out the papers used and I added patterned papers along with solids for my floral die cuts. I also changed the background to be white cardstock embossed by the Tiny Dots folder and went with silver instead of gold for my arches.
I think it's pretty amazing that Scrapbook.com puts on a free 2 day virtual event. I consider myself a seasoned card maker and I learn LOTS of tips and tricks with every class I watch. If you find yourself wanting to purchase any of the class supplies, be sure to use the code SBCFEST5 at checkout for 10% off.
AND add those freebies too! Here are 2 of the 4 freebies offered right now!
TIP: add the freebies one at a time. Once in your cart, add 1 freebie, then leave the cart and go back in and add the next.

Hello Floral card

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing another card using the new Spotlight Frames and Florals collection designed Lisa Horton for Spellbinders and the Bayfair collection by Rosie's Studios. I love both of these collections, you can see my other projects using them HERE, HERE and HERE.
STITCHED EDGE CIRCLE BACKGROUND AND FLORAL SPRAY DIE SETS

These lovely flower blooms are from the Floral Spray die set, and I die cut them in purples with pale green leaves and a soft yellow for the centers.
The card base and main panel are die cut using the Nested Postage Labels & Tag die set which I see as a MUST HAVE basic set for your die collection!
The fabulous sentiment is from the A Little Hello Sentiments stamp and die set which is a stamp and die set. The Hello has 2 layering shadow dies (I used 1) and there are 7 coordinating sentiment stamps each with an outline die!
