Gina K Designs May release

Hi everyone! Tonight is the May release for Gina K Designs and I am SO EXCITED to share a few projects using 2 new sets. There are many other fabulous stamp and die sets in this release, so be sure to check them all out!!
The 2 sets I will be working with are:
The Best Things in Life illustrated by Lisa Hetrick
Spring Bouquets illustrated by Hanna Drapinski

First up is a card using the new Spring Bouquets stamp set. The floral clusters in this set are just STUNNING! So many possibilities. I didn't have much time to do coloring, so I opted for the faster heat embossing with Detailed White Embossing powder on vellum and colored it with ink. I love this technique on vellum, you lightly blend the ink and then wipe it off the excess. And the ink comes right off the white embossed outline.
To create the background, I ink blended on white cardstock (colors listed below) and die cut with the Basket Weave Cover Plate keeping a few of the die cut pieces in place.I added a bit of twine and a few accent gold gems for a bit of sparkle! The sentiment is from my go-to Sentiment Sheet Mixed messages.
Colors used for background:
Bubblegum Pink
TIP: when coloring vellum, chose a color 1 shade darker than you want it to appear as the vellum mutes the ink a bit. So to match the Bubblegum Pink, I colored the accent flowers with Passionate Pink and to match the Ocean Mist I used Turquoise Sea, Lucky Clover was saturated enough to stand out on its own for the leaves.
Next up is a second card used with the Spring Bouquets stamp set. This time I embossed the smaller bloom cluster and I placed it over a panel that was ink blended with some soft colors. I matted the inked panel to white cardstock die cut with a die from the Master Layouts 2 die set. I added the sentiment stamped in a soft gray ink and added a few gems and some white string.
All and all this is super simple, but very pretty.
Colors used on the background:

Next up is a mini slimline card featuring the large Morning Glory flower vine cluster from The Best Things in Life stamp set. I googled Morning Glory flowers and fell in LOVE with the super rich and bright pink and purple blooms.
I used my bright and vibrant Karin markers to color them in. I kept the design pretty simple, allowing the flowers to take center stage. I used my go-to Master Layouts 7 die set for the slimline shape.
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great day!

  1. Beautiful cards. If I can ask did you color on the back side of the velum?

    1. Hi there! All the colors are listed in my "tip" paragraph beneath the first photo. Also, I applied the ink to the top of the image and not the back side. However, it does work applying ink to the back, but it is more muted. I hope this helps :)
