Be Bold Blooms happy birthday and a new machine for Gina K!

Hi everyone! This time of year I start to make cards sets that I give away as Christmas gifts. Today's birthday card will be the start of a card set that uses my beloved Be Bold Blooms die set with the gorgeous patterned papers in the Morning Memories pack by Paper Rose.
It was fairly simple to put together. I cut a strip of patterned paper, die cut the flowers from some of the solid patterns and the leaves and stems were cut from cardstock. To add a bit of dimension to the flowers, I blended a little ink (I'll list the colors below). The sentiment was one from my pre-foiled stash of sentiments.
***Did you catch the announcement by Gina?***
Today Gina K Designs launched her very own Fuse Foiling System!!
It is $69.95 and comes with a starter pack of Poly Glaze Sheets and Foil pack. Oh and it's PURPLE and so so pretty! So if you've been on the fence about taking the plunge to use her Poly Glaze sheets, this new system may be worth checking out.

Merry and Bright Christmas card

Hi everyone!  Only a few more days until Christmas and I am so behind!  Come on, I know some of you are just now mailing out your Christmas cards like me, right?!?  LOL!

Speaking of Christmas cards, I have a fun one to share using the new Mix-N-Match Ornaments die set by Spellbinders.  I LOVE this set.  There are 4 basic ornament shapes and 4 inserts that fit into each.  Giving you tons of combinations!

I still had my Peace Love Joy pattern paper pad out from my last Christmas card - I think it's my favorite Christmas paper this year.
My card uses the same ornament shape with 2 different inserts, the snowflake and the tree.  Aren't they fun?!  The sentiment is from Christmas Inner Thoughts by JustRite Papercrafts.
I added a couple scored lines at the top and some organdy ribbon along the bottom for some texture.  I also added some rhinestones to accent the ornaments.

Thanks for stopping by!  Here is a close up picture showing the ornament detail.

Spellbinders Design-abilities Blog Hop

Hi everyone!  Welcome to the Design-abilities Blog Hop!   Every other month the Spellbinders® Blog Team gets together for a blog hop -this hop is just for fun and not sponsored by Spellbinders.  Not all of us could participate today, but I encourage you to visit all of their blogs.  You will find amazing projects of all kinds, including papercrafting, mixed media, DIY projects, jewelry, home decor, with lots of tutorials and techniques!

My card uses the 2013 Snowflake Pendant dies.  Each year Spellbinders comes out with a special snowflake pendant die set and this year's is GORGEOUS!  I layered 2 of the snowflakes for my card and added lots of sparkle with rhinestones and stickles.  I also used the A2 Curved Borders for the curve at the bottom.  I've used this layout before and really love it.

As designers we are always inspired by each other and we hope to inspire you too.  Enjoy the hop!

CardMaker and Crafter's Companion blog hop

Hi everyone!  CardMaker Magazine and Crafter's Companion are teaming up today for a fabulous blog hop! I am using the adorable stamp set from Makey Bakey called Christmas Carol and 2 Spectrum Noir marker sets (the Reds and Warm Grays)!
I wasn't familiar with Spectrum Noir markers, but they work very similar to Copic markers so I was able to use them with no problem.  What I like about these sets is they come with 6 markers in the same family, so there is no guess work on what colors blend with each other.

I will admit when starting to color the mouse I was a bit stumped.  So I looked at the stamp set packaging and copied it exactly!  That's not really cheating, is it?  LOL!

There will be a giveaway with this hop!
Crafter’s Companion is offering two Christmas prize packs which will include a stamp, 2 six-marker sets and an embossing folder along with a digital 1-year subscription to CardMaker!
The giveaway will be hosted on Crafter's Companion FaceBook page.
Check out and "Like" their page for all the details!

Here is a list of who is hopping today:

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the hop!  Your next stop is Roxanne O'Brien!
Supplies used: Spectrum Noir markers and Christmas Carols stamp set from Crafter's Companion; white cardstock from Gina K. New Die D-Lites flowers

Hi everyone! I have a fun card to share using a couple of the new Die D-Lites™ dies from Spellbinders.  This line of dies has 1 to 3 coordinating dies in each set and have a lower price point.  Spellbinders just released several new sets and be still my heart, there are 4 new flower sets and a really cool flourish/branch set!

My card uses my favorite of the new flowers, Blooms Three and the leaf branch from the Sprigs set.

Aren't these flowers beautiful?!?  I love the de-bossed detail on the petal tips!  For the leaves, I die cut the sprig, cut it apart and tucked the ends under the petals. I used a couple strips of washi tape along the bottom which accented the pretty border made from the Classic Scallop Edge die and the Flower with Dots insert die from the Classic Ric Rac Edgeabilities set.
Here is a close up pic showing the embossing and de-bossing details on the bloom petals.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Fabulous Stamped Frames blog hop

Hi everyone!  Welcome to a special blog hop!  Today several members of the CardMaker Blog team and Gina K. Designs team are showcasing stamps used in Melanie Muenchinger's newest book Fabulous Stamped Frames, published by Annie's. This card making tutorial book features 36 projects using seven of Melanie's bold and line art frame stamp sets from Gina K. Designs.  These versatile sets each contain a frame stamp large enough to fill an A2 card front, which can be rotated portrait or landscape style, along with coordinating images and sentiments, that allow both beginners and advanced crafters to enjoy endless design possibilities for year-round themes, occasions and styles. Not all sets are needed to get a ton of instruction and ideas from this book!
Melanie challenged us to each put our own spin on one of the sets, so we hope you enjoy what you see today!  She and Gina will be sharing videos as well to show more of the book and some of the stamps in action.

My card uses the set, Fun Year Round. I love the circles in this set and the little image stamps really makes it versatile.  I partially inked frame and filled the circles with a combo of stamped images and paper pieced circles.  The sentiment was cut out from the pattern paper.

More Gina K July release cards

Hi everyone!  I have a few more cards to share from Gina K's July release.  First up is a card using the set, Up Up and Away illustrated by Theresa.  I just love the balloons in this set!  I colored them with copic markers and cut them out.  The background is a stamp from American Made.  I accented the card with some simple sequins and stickles.

Next up is a card using Lots of Dots Alphabet, illustrated by Beth.  I stamped my sentiment in colorful inks and did some hand doodling around the edges.  Remember back when  doodling was all the rage?  I chose the colors to match this happy paper from My Mind's Eye, Kate & Co "Cambridge Court".  I made the flowers with the Spellbinders Rose Creations dies.

My cards use Inks, Buttons and Ribbons from the Gina's Color Companion collection.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  Here are some close up pictures.

More Gina K samples

Hi everyone!  I have a few more cards to share from Gina K's February release.  First up is a card using the set, A Year of Flowers 2, illustrated by Melanie.  I mentioned it before, but this is my favorite flower set designed by Melanie so far.  I just love the whimsical feel to it!!

I colored the flowers very simply with a swipe of my marker on each petal and some dots of color and pearls in the center.  I love that these flowers look perfect colored all ways.  The cute papers are from the new Park Bench pad by Fancy Pants.
Next up is a card using All Occasion Tags 2, illustrated by Tami Mayberry.  The tags in this set coordinate with Spellbinders Grommet Tags.  On this card, I stamped the tag frame image and colored it in with copics then die cut it out.  The stripes in the background are a combination of papers from Seen and Noted, washi tape and cardstock.  And the hexagon embossing folder in the background is So Trendy from Spellbinders.
My first card plays along with last week's challenge from CAS(E) This Sketch.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.  I'll leave you with some close up pictures.

Trio of note cards

Hi everyone!  I am back from CHA and getting back into the swing of things (photos and a little CHA swag giveaway coming soon).  While I was gone, we had our release for Gina K Designs.  Thankfully, my pre-scheduled blog posts went off without a hitch.
Now that I am back, I had a chance to use the NEW COLOR COMPANION INKS!  Woohoo!  And I am happy to report that they are amazing!  They have really great coverage and because they are dye inks, you can use your Copic markers with them.

Today, while avoiding the rather large pile of laundry, I made some time to craft and made a trio of note cards using the new Simple Hearts set.  The elements in this set are SO cool.  I could make a dozen more of these little guys!
Each one is slightly different.  I used a couple pattern papers and changed up the sentiment and center piece.
Here are individual pictures:
Mrs. Cherry Red
Mrs. Turquoise Sea
and Mrs. Passionate Pink
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  Here is a close up picture of the Mrs. Turquoise Sea.
