Amusing challenge -anything goes

Hi everyone! My friend Chris is an AMuse Studio consultant (and a fantastic one at that!) and she has monthly challenges that I never seem to have time to play.  But today I made a couple of easy cards.  I have quite a few AMuse stamp sets that have *gasp* never seen ink.  So, I really need to play along more often.

This month's Amusing Challenge theme is "Anything goes" which was to follow!

I used the pretty flower outline stamp from the Floral Duet set (note, this is the smaller flower in the set) and the sentiments are from the set Friend to Friend.

This first card uses Bermuda cardstock and polka dot pattern paper.  I added yellow and aqua sequins and some mini twinkles stickers as accents.

This one uses Slate and sugar cardstock, Slate gingham pattern paper.  I added red and yellow sequins and some mini twinkles stickers as accents.

Lastly this one uses some Fancy Pants pattern paper I had lying around with a metal flower I had in my stash for the center.

Sweet Christmas Wishes

Hi everyone!  I have a quick and cute Christmas card to share using the A|Muse set, Cup of Good Cheer.  The darling striped pattern paper is from the My Mind's Eye, Winter Wonderland pad.  This is an easy design and uses up pattern paper scraps and some of the ribbon that we all tend to hoard -lol!

Above the stamped sentiment strip at the top I added a piece of 1/4" Scor-Tape and then dusted it with crystal ultrafine glitter.  You can see it in the photo, but it's super sparkly IRL.  Isn't this the cutest little mug?  I added liquid applique to the marshmallows and cut out a snowflake from a piece of pattern paper for the center accent.

Stamp out Breast Cancer with A|Muse Studios

Spooky

Hi everyone!  Long time no post!  Things have been pretty crazy around here with back to school AND we are rebuilding our back porch (which hasn't been going smoothly).  So it's no surprise my mojo has gone AWOL.  I decided to jump back into stamping with a simple card using my much neglected Unity Stamps and play along with Friends with Flair! 

I have seen this layout using washi tape all around the galleries and thought it would be perfect for this cute little bat.  These tapes are from a Halloween pack from A|Muse!  The stamps are from Unity's August 2012 KOM and I also played along with the CAS-ual Fridays challenge CFC69, which was to emboss.  I heat embossed the bat image and the sentiment.

Dwell in Possibility

Hi everyone!  I have a quick and easy card to share today.  I will admit that I'm not too happy with this card. I think something is off, but I can't put my finger on it and since I fiddled with it for what seemed an eternity, I went with it!

I recently won a stamp giveaway from my friend and A|Muse Consultant, Chris Franco's blog.  The set is a Hostess set if I am not mistaken and called Dwell in Possibility.  I thought I it would be fun to use it and challenge myself to use only A|Muse products.  Over the last year, I have been slowly accumulating and making the move to all the A|Muse inks, cardstock, buttons and matching ribbons (from PTI and SU).  I just love me some matchy-matchy!

Love my tapes sketch challenge

Hi everyone!!  I took a little break from my Spellbinders projects to play along with the Loves My Tapes June Sketch challenge.  I thought it was a fun sketch and I just love any excuse to play with my washi tapes!

My card uses a new stamp set I just received from A|Muse called, Hey Cupcake.  I had a little fun with the icing on the cuppy by stamping the outline image in black then outlining it with a copic marker.  Then I stamped the solid icing image over it with versamark and embossed it with Diamond embossing powder.

 

 Using washi tape makes it easy to decorate the inside of the card too.  Just a couple strips along the bottom and you're done!

CardMaker Blog Hop: He's All That

Hi everyone!  Welcome to today's CardMaker blog hop!  The theme is He’s All That, and the blog team was asked to make masculine cards. With all the graduations going on right now, I made a masculine graduation card! 

Whenever I think of masculine cards I always think of stars and brown tones first.  So it's no surprise I went with both on this card.  I thought I would have some fun with my star die cuts with a sort of peek-a-boo opening at the bottom.  To make this, first I cut off 1.25" from the bottom of the card, next I cut off another 1/2" which would be my opening.  Gluing down the stars was a bit tricky, so I temporarily adhered my card to my grid mat and made sure everything was lining up perfectly.  There is a lot going on at the bottom, so I added some scored lines all across the top to sort of balance things out.

Retro Sketches -roses and washi tape

Hi everyone!  I took a little time last weekend to play along with a new-to-me sketch challenge blog.  It's called Retro Sketches.  I have seen some of my blogging buddies play along with these before and this week's sketch called out to me.  I received a new order of Washi Tape (yeah, MORE!) and had to bust them out and play!

My card uses the Spellbinders Rose Creations die templates, Washi Tape from Chickydoodle and accents from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

See the flower made from the matching Washi Tape?  To make that, I covered some cardstock with the tape and die cut it.  Works perfect if you want a matching layer with your tape!

Retreat treats and thank you cards

Hi everyone!  I wanted to share with you the little gifts that I made for the Spellbinders ladies at the retreat.  You see, we were all to bring a little something from where we lived or that said something a bit about us.  I decided to give the girls an assortment of STASH tea bags.  Stash is a Portland based company and has the most delish tea flavors (I also added a couple chocolates to the baggies, cause everyone loves chocolate).

I made the tags from a variety of my Labels and Nestabilities dies.  That's one great thing about the Grand Calibur, you can lay out lots of dies at once.  To make all 16 tags, I think it took me about 3 runs through the machine.  The pattern paper on all of the tags is from various My Mind's Eye 6x6 pads.

My next ongoing project will be to make and send out thank you cards to each of Spellbinders' Cross Promotional Partners that donate some product for the DT to use on our Spellbinders projects.  The list is pretty long, so I will be making the cards in batches.  My first cards use stamps from Waltzingmouse Stamps.  I used Scallops and Dots and the sentiment is from Fancy Phrases.  I made 4 with this design and that's about my limit.  I just can't make anymore of the same without going crazy -lol!

These cards use some of my Amuse Studio cardstock, ink and ribbons and My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline pattern papers.  Yes, I used MORE of the new MME pads, I just can't help myself!!  The little rhinestones on the flourishes are from Pizzazz Aplenty.

Double challenge -Waltzingmouse meets AMuse

Hi everyone!  I have another double challenge card to share today.  This card followed this week's Waltzingmouse sketch challenge (it was a circle, can't pass that right?) and the new AMuse challenge blog challenge which was to create your own embellishment.

The stamp set is WMS Say it Loud and to make the embellishment, I used Shell Satin ribbon and twisted and wound them around a Gluber glue dot. I then took a bit of Fern satin for the leaves and glued a 20mm open rose on top. The ribbons, cardstock and pattern paper are from AMuse.  I am new to AMuse, the cardstock and pattern papers are different than I am used to, it is white on the reverse side.  That is kinda cool, when you use it for card bases, you won't have to line the inside with white cardstock!  Also, it is a bit thinner, so when you emboss it you will need to use a shim.
