Two floral cards colored with Zig markers

Hi everyone! I'm finally getting some of my mojo back and today I'm sharing a couple cards I made using my neglected Zig Markers. Truth be told, I gave these a try awhile back and really struggled. Then I saw a video from Arteza showing a designer coloring with the markers by themselves and not using any water. I thought I'd give it a try and it worked much better for me! I did use a number 2 watercolor brush and used it a little on the lighter parts. So yay, I found a way that works for me!

First up is a lovely wreath from the Gina K Designs set called, Kindness Wreath. GORGEOUS! Right?!? The sentiments are from the Just Because set.

Next up is the gorgeous Rose Bouquet stamp set from Picket Fence Studios. We all know my love for roses and this set is beyond words beautiful. I played around with the colors and did each flower different. That vibrant violet color is my favorite!

Beauties from Picket Fence Studios

Hi everyone! Last month I was blessed to win $100 worth of stamps from the fabulous company Picket Fence Studios! I never win giveaways, so this was particularly amazing!!

Since I started relandscaping front yard (what WAS I thinking -we took it down to bare dirt!?!?) I haven't had much time to craft. But slowly over the last couple of weeks I made these 2 cards I want to share.

First up is a card using one of the Beautiful Girls series of stamps, this one is Sydnee:

I colored her with copics and used a piece of seam binding ribbon as a ruffle dress. Also used on the card are flowers from the Prima Abbey shades of gray collection, FSJ white flowers and floral embossing folder, a piece of the Kaisercraft Two Souls collection.

Next up is a card that uses the fabulous set, Rustic Floral.

I colored the simple flowers with copics and added a bit of ink splattering, branch die cuts from Stamp Simply Floral Cluster and Twigs die set and some twine and sequins.

Blue pansies with ink blending background

Hi everyone! I tried a little something different on today's card. I was inspired by all the monochromatic cards I've been seeing lately, so I pulled out my Floral Cluster Spring Pansies stamp set, stamped the flowers with blue ink and created a blue ink background.
I used my new Life Changing Brushes from Picket Fence Studios and did some ink blending with Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide ink. I have to say, the blending went pretty well vs. the old sponge daubers I used to use. I'm no pro either way, but it was a bit easier.

At the top ink blended portion, I splattered a bit of water to see the cool reaction it makes with the distress oxide ink. Then I mixed a few drops of water with the ink and splattered it on the panel, and added a few dark blue rhinestones at the flower centers. This one was quick and easy to make.
I could see making many more in a rainbow of colors! What a perfect little gift for someone.

Copic and Arteza brush pens, one image colored 2 ways

Hi everyone! My coloring journey continues. I bought this amazing stamp by Picket Fence Studios which is part of their Beautiful Girls line, this one is Jordan and I am in love. She is just beautiful. I see many more of these beauties in my future.

I wanted to practice my coloring skills with skin and hair using both Copics and my Arteza Brush pens. I thought it would be fun to make identical cards one colored with each method. Here's how they turned out.

This was my first time at coloring a person (and a rather large area of the shirt) using my Arteza brush pens. I really love this look! Water coloring is tricky and I plan on taking an online class to help me improve. After I finish my Copic class that is which I'm only 1/2 way through! I keep getting sidetracked, lol. I'm sure many crafters can relate!

Here is a closer look at the water colored image. I heat embossed her in black first to help my coloring stay in the lines. When I get a bit better I plan on trying to water color without embossing and then the no-line method!

Here is a closer look at the copic colored image. I am more practiced with Copics and like how this turned out even without getting through the skin and hair section which is up next!
