Some Verve cards with NEW papers!

Hi everyone!  I just love Cosmo Cricket.  Yep.  I do.  I am totally smitten with their new Christmas paper pad, Mitten Weather and Pixie-Licious is DELICIOUS!  And, bonus -the purple colors in both coordinate!  The Stamp Simply Ribbon store is now fully stocked with all the new Cosmo Cricket release 6x6 paper pads and lots more (Kaisercraft, Crate Paper, Basic Grey, etc)!!
My first card is for the September Week 3 of the Viva La Verve challenges. I chose picture 1 for my inspiration.  The sentiment is from Verve's Big Wish set. I colored it in with copic markers. I thought my new Cosmo Cricket, Pixie-Licious pattern paper was a perfect match for the wall vinyl! The flower is a Trellis Rose in purple from Prima. The ribbon is 1/4" silk in purple.  I have to admit, that bottom circle part on the sketch really threw me, but I flashed back to last week's sketch by Mercy and used a ring instead of a solid circle.

My second card uses a sentiment from Verve's Always on my Mind set stamped on a doilie.  I have had these doilies forEVER and couldn't figure out how to use them until I saw this card from Tiffany.  The sketch is this week's CPS185.  I loved this one and used the amazing papers from Crate Paper's, Restoration 6x6 pad.  More primas on this one too.  The larger one is from the Prima Trellis Roses Coral pack and the smaller one is from the Prima Innoscence Collection.  I lightly sponged both with some blue ink to blend better with the pattern paper.
I got all fancy with the stitching on this card and it was a total nightmare!  lol!  You should see the back.  Thankfully the front turned out looking good.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Ippity Stamps Sneak Peek: Day 3

Hi everyone! Ready for MORE?!? Today we are peeking 2 more sets, Where You Should Be (my personal favorite of the release) and Love in Return. Both sets SERIOUSLY ROCK!!

My card uses one of 7 stamps in the Where You Should Be. The leave branches in this set are AMAZING!

My card is a sympathy card. My dad lost his sister last week and I made this for him. He is a manly man if there ever was. NO FRILLS for him at all. I made this CAS and used this week's Fall To Layout 77. The pattern paper to the left is from Basic Grey Mellow. Simple black pearls adorn the leaves and a simple piece of 1/4" black grosgrain are all the embellies I used. The sentiment is from Ippity's Just Wanted to Say.

The card base is from a pack of note cards from Creative Cafe. The color worked for a masculine card and it has some ridged texture that gives it that something extra.

This next card also uses a leaf image from Where You Should Be. I used the CPS153 sketch for the layout and Nook and Pantry is the pattern paper. The sentiment is from Just Wanted to Say, I inked only the Thanks word on the stamp. The cute little brown pearls are from Zva Creative's Pearl Wheel.

There's something about this card that doesn't settle well with me, but after 2 days of fussing around -adding panels, taking away stuff, it is what it is -kwim?!?

BE SURE to check out the DTs amazing sneak peeks and we even have a couple Unity girls playing along too!

The Inka Fairy came! AND some sketch cards

Hi everyone! Awhile ago, I entered a contest over at the Spotted Canary site and WON!! I'm even mentioned on the Home page as one of the 5 winners!! The Spotted Canary site is a forum/gallery/community sponsored by EK Success, Inkadinkado and K & Company. Well, last week my prize goodies arrived and check out these!! The paper pack is K & Co Que, Sera Sera, the clear stamp sets are Inka Heartful of Love, All Hallow's Eve, Gem Stone Birds and the wooden stamps are super cute shilouettes! Oh thank you Spotted Canary! AND, they have another contest going on right now -so you can check it out if you want. It's called Back to School Kids Crafts.

This first card uses some of the new Cosmo Cricket Jolly by Golly Chipboard shapes and paper from the Jolly by Golly mini-deck (Rachel is sold out of the paper, but it was shipped today, so check back to the store soon)! LOVE this paper and LOVE this chipboard!!

I have to say this chipboard has really good adhesive and comes apart really clean compared to Basic Grey chipboard. Don't get me wrong, I love my Basic Grey chipboard stickers, but the paper backing tears a bit and you need additional glue to make it stick. NOT the case with Cosmo! Oh be still my little heart!!

The layout is from this weeks CPS129 sketch. I LOVED the 3 little panels on top of the horizonal piece (which I used as ribbon). The sentiment is one of many cute ones from Verve's Ornamental Christmas set.

My next card started out as the Mojo100 sketch. Can you believe Julee has done 100 Mojo Skeches?!? I can't even design ONE!! LOL! You can check them all out at the MojoMonday Blog.

I just found some Amercian Crafts Thickers at Big Lots (for $2 each!) and really wanted to use a frame piece for the sketch. The pack is from the Wine color collection and was a PERFECT match to my Que, Sera Sera! Woot! BUT, the frame was a touch too big for the circle behind it, so I left it off. So, techincally this doesn't qualify for Julee's sketch!

I stamped the adorable shoe from Express Yourself and embossed it in black. Then I stamped one of the corner flourishes and then place the frame carefully to show just a bit. I decorated the frame a bit with some silver cord, Zva Felt flowers, and silver pearls from Michael's.

Thanks for stopping by! I am just crazy about today's SCS sketch and the week's Mojo sketches, so look for some more sketch cards from me! Have a great Wednesday.

Card Deets:
Stamps - sentiment from Ornamental Christmas

CPS sketch -Masculine birthday card

Hi everyone. A short post today. I wanted to play along with this week's CPS115 sketch challenge. I really liked it! This is an easy one, I made it in about 1/2 hour. The hardest part was picking the DP! LOL! I am always short on masculine birthday cards, so here is one for the file.

I used some MME dp from their 29th Street Market Unique line. Love it! Very masculine. I seem to always turn to stars for my masculine cards and instead of ribbon, I always use burlap string from Heidi's store.
Card Deets:
Stamps - Birthday Basics (PTI)
Paper - Dark Brown, Vintage Cream (both PTI), Cranberry Crisp, MME Unique DP
Accessories - large and small SU star punches, burlap string, aged copper brads

Verve Project Parade and a CPS sketch with some sunshine

Hi everyone! It's my day to post my project on the Verve Blog. In case you haven't hopped on over there, the theme this month is "It's a Girl Thing: Celebrating the Women in our Lives". Here is a tiny peek at my project. You will have to go on over to see the whole thing!! If you play along, there are 2 chances to win some Verve bucks!!

Next up, I have a card for this week's CPS114 challenge sponsored this week by Sweet and Sassy Stamps. I also played along with Sharon's SSnotime85 challenge -to use yellow and let the sun shine in!! We have been having NON-stop rain over here in Oregon for days and I guess I needed a bit of bright colors!

This card uses pp from DCWV the Citrus pack. Man, I love all the colors and patterns in this pack. Actually, now that I am posting this, I see that it kinda coordinates with the bright colors with my Verve Project Parade... humm, I guess I really was needing some BRIGHT fun around me!!

The image and sentiment used on this card are from Repeat Impressions, the image is called Sunflower. I just love this delicate image -it made me smile the entire time I was making this. The sentiment tag was made using the double ended tag nestie, I just "skootched" the paper before the second hole, so the die only cut one end. I took my SU turquoise marker to the "stitching" on the Top Note piece. Some little primas and blue bling finish off the sketch.

Thanks for stopping by!

Card Deets:
Stamps - Sunflower, Thank you (Repeat Impressions)
Paper - white, tempting turquoise, Citrus matstack (DCWV)
Accessories - circle nesties, Top note die, turquoise marker, double ended tag nestie), Got flowers deux primas, turquoise bling, copic markers and stickles

CPS sketch baby boy card using Dawn's colors

Hi everyone! Here is a quick card to share. You all know my love of sketch challenges, this card is for the CPS113 challenge! It also uses the color combo from Dawn's Raspberry Suite challenge -light aqua, brown and white. Perfect for a little boy card, don't you think?

The DP is from DCWV Nana's Nursery boy matstack and the chipboard piece is from the Chipboard Shapes and Letters box. Found it on sale -woot woot! The sentiment is from Verve's Practically Perfect set and the buttons are from Pinkhedgehog Papercrafts.

I want to give a big shout out to the wonderful generous girls from the SCS WishRAK! I don't have the Top Note die cut from SU!, but thru that forum I am able to have a small stash to use. It's seriously my favorite -I may have to break down and spend the $25!!

Thanks for stopping by and again, check in tomorrow for a special pre-sale at Jacksonbelle Embellishments!!

Card Deets:
Stamps - Practically Perfect
Paper - white, choc brown (both PTI), Nana's nursery boy (DCWV)
Accessories - chipboard onesie, buttons, ribbon scraps, rectangle nesties, sponge

SC225 and CPS112 cards

Hi everyone! I have a couple challenge cards to share today. This first card is for this week's SCS sketch challenge. I rather like this sketch, love the symetrical yet off set bg panels! I chose to use my brand new Peaches stamp from Repeat Impressions.

I LOVE this image, but have to confess I had NO CLUE how to color a peach. Love this little guy, BUT I have to confess I had no clue how to color it. Thank you to Mr Google! I found lots of pictures online and this is was my first try -so be kind! I colored it with Copic markers and then painted it with Gold Shimmerz. The DP is Basic Grey Porcelain -isn't it a perfect match with the peach tones? I left off the sentiment, cause I am torn between using this as a thank you or a birthday card!

Whew! This card is a triple challenge card! I used the sketch for this week's CPS sketch, last week's DoubleDog Dare challenge to make a black/red/white card and this week's CAS challenge to use some kid's bedding from JC Penny.

I chose Crazy Ladybug Quilt bedding, it fit right into the colors I had to use.I used Martha Stewart's ladybug punch and a mini flower punch for the card. The doodles are hand drawn and there are 2 scored lines above and below the image panel. The sentiment is from Verve's Circular Sayings set.

Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. I updated my Robward picture!

Card Deets (SC225):
Stamps: Peaches

A Verve sneak peek Day One and a CAS card

Hi everyone! It's Day One of Verve sneak peeks! Today we are peeking the Plain Janes. This month, Julee is releasing four new Plain Janes -woohoo. In case you are not familiar with Plain Janes, they are single stamps and often coordinate with released sets!

This card uses Mother's Day Plain Jane. I LOVE that the sentiment is large enough to be the focal point of the card. AND, check out the flower on "O" in Mother -recognize it from the from Grateful Elegance set? Yep, that gorgeous 6-petal flower has made a come back this release! I loved that flower and am thrilled to see it in a BIG way (hint hint)!! I made this card with some cheerful bold bright paper and flowers! This one is earmarked for Bill's mom. He claimed it right away. It is SOOOO her style! Over on the Verve Blog, you can check out all the Plain Jane peeks -even another card from me!

This next card is a triple challenge card! It is for this week's Clean and Simple challenge -to use monotone colors, I chose pinks. It also is for this week's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge -to have piercing on your card. Finally, it follows this weeks CPS card sketch, CPS111. I am new to these sketches, but hey, you can never have enough sketches to follow, especially if you are like me and can't design one to save my life!

The stamp is from Flourishes, Summer Blossoms set. I LOVE the elegant stems and blooms in this set!! The DP is the retired Pink DSP and the butterflies are punched from a small Marvy punch.

Thanks for stopping by! Stay tuned tomorrow for Day Two of Verve's sneak peeks and my sketch challenge card!!

P.S. for all of you Twilight/Edward fans, I have added a Robward picture of the week below my slide show. Hey, you can't have too much Rob/Edward right? LOL!
