OCTOBER LARGE DIE AND GLIMMER HOT FOIL OF THE MONTH

This month's Large Die set is called Window Wonderland and features a bay window (which I used as a gazebo), Christmas tree with ornaments, string lights, snow mounds and a child with a sled and presents for accessorizing!  The Glimmer Hot Foil of the month is called Magic Wonderland which is a fabulous background of hearts, stars and dots and has 4 sentiments.
I started with the background which is foiled with matte gold on mid-tone blue cardstock, I trimmed it and adhered it to the card base. I die cut the gazebo from white and satin gold cardstock. I wanted this semi monochromatic using white, gold and a few shades of blue. And for a pop of color I made the Christmas lights a bright purple color! I die cut all the snow from glitter cardstock to give it some sparkle and dimension. I love how this turned out!

To The Lovely Couple Wedding Card

Hi crafty friends! This stunning wedding day sentiment is part of the Copperplate On Your Wedding Day collection designed by Paul Antonio for Spellbinders. This collection has 4 beautiful wedding themed BetterPress plate sets.
To the Lovely Couple plate and Be Bold Blooms die set

I heat foiled the sentiment with the Lavender Petal foil. This is a gorgeous purple color and keeping with purples, I accented the upper and lower corners with flowers from my favorite floral die set, Be Bold Blooms.
The font in this collection is so elegant, absolutely perfect for weddings! I chose to use purples, but it would be amazing to make the card in the wedding colors of the couple! I love how this turned out. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Spellbinders November 2024 Wax Seal of the Month, Happy Birthday to You

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing a pretty pretty birthday card using the November Wax Seal of the Month by Spellbinders. If you missed my card using the Small Die of the Month and the Stencil of the Month, you can find it HERE. This month's theme is birthday and each of the clubs are fabulous! The sign up goes through the 27th, so there's still time! Check out what I made and scroll down for all the products used.

Club subscription info:

NOVEMBER 2024 WAX SEAL OF THE MONTH

This month's Wax Seal stamp is called "Happy Birthday to You" and it is a square shape. The words are deeply etched, so it is easy to go over it with a silver metallic pen. My kit came with the Must Have Coral Mix beads and I just love all the coral/peachy tones with a pop of copper! I knew I wanted to combine my wax seal with a few of my favorite Sealed stem dies and the new Hexi-Gem Shaker Dome.
The assortment of stems I used are from the Sealed Squiggles and Sealed Wildflowers die sets. These are my go-to sets when I use wax seals. Last month Spellbinders launched 5 Shaker Domes styles, each matching an essential die shape. These shaker domes makes shaker cards so easy to make! Mine uses the Hexi-Gem shape which is one of my favorites!
When I started my card I hot foiled the Monoline Stars Glimmer plate in several colors. I chose the silver foiled piece for my shaker card, but the piece foiled in Rose Gold was WAY TOO PRETTY not to use! So this is a bonus card I made. I kept almost everything the same, but swapped out the shaker dome for an embossed panel. I didn't have any Rose Gold cardstock for my stems, so I foiled a solid rectangle and die cut from it. I love how both of these turned out.

Shine Bright - Be the Light

Hi crafty friends! Are you in to sparkly glittery disco balls? If so you need to check out the newest collection by Carissa Wiley for Spellbinders called Shine Bright! This collection features die sets, Glimmer hot foil and BetterPress Plates and layering stencils. So much happy sparkly goodness.💫
Check out what I made and scroll down for a list of all the supplies I used.
For my sparkly card I used the Disco Balls die set, the Shine Bright Sentiment Strips press plates, and the fabulous Sparkle Background Glimmer plate.
I die cut the disco balls from silver mirror cardstock, I mean how could I not?!? And the shine on these is off the charts. For the background, I foiled the Sparkle Background with the super bright Fuchsia Flower foil. I love the design of this background. It looks amazing with this bright fuchsia, but equally as fabulous in any other color. I wanted to add pops of a complimentary color, so I went with a turquoise/teal color.
I absolutely love how this turned out! So, do you craft with bright colors? If so, this collection is for you!

Autumn is here! Falling Leaves plate and September Wax Seal of the month -2 card designs

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing 2 fun fall cards. Fall is here whether we're ready or not, and this month Spellbinders has a great new fall collection called Falling Leaves and the Monthly Club kits also have a fall theme.
First up is a card using some of the Falling Leaves collection with a few added fall accent die cuts.
AUTUMN RAIN PRESS PLATE AND STENCIL BUNDLE

One of my FAVORITE things to do with the BetterPress plates is to foil them! I love how the BP plates can be pressed or foiled. Given their multi-use, I wonder if Spellbinders will continue to make them and quietly stop making Hot Foil plates?
I chose to foil the Autumn Rain plate with matte gold foil and colored it in with the coordinating stencil set (which has 5 stencils). I used a blue teal color for the umbrella for a nice pop of color and stenciled the leaves with a nice green turning to red. I added some fall leaf die cuts with a simple 1 layer sunflower as accents.
Next I have a fall card using the September Wax Seal of the Month, the seal stamp is called "Falling Leaves" and is an oval shape with a variety of fall leaves. I used the Autumn Mix of wax beads and highlighted the leaves with my DecoColor gold pen.
SEPTEMBER 2024 WAX SEAL OF THE MONTH AND AUTUMN SEALED SPRIGS

I used a couple of my older Sealed Stems sets with the wax seal. I love all of these stems and they can be used without wax seals. A lovely bow, circle sentiment, lots of possibilities. I wanted to use some of the fall papers that I had in my stash and used the patterned and solids from the paper pad.
I love how these turned out!

Spellbinders Poppy Background press plate -Foiled and Reverse Foiled

Hi everyone! I'm back today sharing 2 more cards from the latest collection designed by Yana Smakula for Spellbinders called Yana's Poppies. This collection features this gorgeous poppy die and outline and a BetterPress background plate with coordinating stencil. If you missed my first post, you can check it out HERE.
YANA'S POPPIES AND BE BOLD BLOOMS DIE SETS

My card uses the Poppy Background BetterPress Plate with Coordinating stencils. This background is for the BetterPress, but I prefer to foil with these plates. I kept with the blue and maroon colors from my first card and used the Cobalt Blue foil with some bright maroon inks. I'm obsessed with this color combo!
I went old school and pulled out some of my 1.5" silk ribbon from my stash. I was looking through some older blog posts, saw a few cards with the big beautiful bows that were popular over 10 years ago an was inspired!
I foiled the A Little Message Sentiments press plates with matte silver foil and cut with the Emerald Cut Labels and Tags die set.

My second card uses the REVERSE foil of the background plate. I may actually love this more than the background! If you're not saving your foil sheets after foiling and trying it on a piece of white cardstock, you should be! Honestly, most of the reverse foiling I try are fails, but this one is a winner!

Foiling with BetterPress Plates and Trying New Metallic Watercolors

Hi everyone! I tried a little something different for these cards. I foiled a BetterPress plate! I've seen other crafters do it with great success, so I tried it myself and it worked beautifully. At first I tried it with a shim and realized that I didn't need it. So if you have the Glimmer and fall in love with a BetterPress plate, go for it! You can used it like a glimmer plate!
I glimmered on dark cardstock and used some new metallic watercolors to color them. I love the sparkle and shine with these metallic watercolors. Check them out.

SEALED FLORALS PRESS PLATE

I used the Sealed Florals press plate (from the Pressed Posies collection) for both of these cards. I glimmered on black cardstock with gold foil and on navy cardstock with matte silver foil. I use white cardstock for 85% of my cards, so branching out with dark colors was really out of my comfort zone. I even considered not posting them, I just really love crisp white cardstock. But in the end, I liked these well enough to share.
On a whim I purchased a metallic watercolor paint palette by Arteza from Amazon and it sat on my desk a good long time until I got the idea to glimmer on dark cardstock. While I do love the shimmery effect, I was a little disappointed on how the colors showed up on cardstock and I was hoping for more pink and green options in the palette. I didn't realize these were heavy on the iridescent which shows up different then in the pan. But this image doesn't have much to color and I think all and all they turned out pretty.
I foiled the press plate with matte silver foil on to navy cardstock. Then I matted the navy panel to matte silver cardstock and then onto a white card base. The "hello" sentiment die came from the Wonderful Script Sentiments die set. I love that the wispy font goes with the tall stems of the flowers! I added a few small silver pearls, a piece of twine and some silver splatter for the final touches.
This card uses matte gold foil and I used one of the new Must-Have Wax Bead mixes in Pink. I love the mix of wax beads in this set. 3 shades of pink and some gold. Perfection! The wax seal is from my stash.
Like my other card, I matted the black panel to matte gold cardstock and die cut the sentiment from the same. I added a few gold gems to the large flower center and added some gold splatter as finishing touches.

Elegant in Gold Happy New Year Card

Hi everyone! I have a fun New Year's card to share today using one of the new BetterPress plates from the Copperplate Holiday Sentiments collection designed by Paul Antonio. This collection features several holiday phrases written in his signature font. Check out the entire collection here.
. . . . .
My card uses the Happy New Year press plate. The font is just stunning! I foiled my plate in gold and used gold and white with a tiny pop of green for my card. Back in the day (before kids), I would celebrate New Year's Eve with an elegant gown and attend fabulous events. So I gravitate to classic elegance for all my New Year's cards.
I thought this sentiment needed a little embellishing and initially thought to go with stars, but ended up using the lovely blooms from the Christmas Blooms die set. Try as I might, I can't stay away from flowers.
I die cut and matted the sentiment with the Nested Postage Labels & Tag die set which is an absolute must have die set! The background was made with the new Starshine Background cover plate die, this has a lovely delicate star-like pattern. I love this cover plate and I know it will get a ton of use. Perfect behind florals or die cuts of any kind!
