I also have a card to share today.  This is the third installment in my Christmas thank you card feature.  This card also uses the pattern paper and Perfect Pearls from the Simon Says Stamp January kit, but this time the main focus is the gorgeous Layered Poinsettia flowers.
Here is the Layered Poinsettia die set:
For my flowers, I die cut and layered each size with champagne shimmer paper and patterned paper.  I love mixing up my flowers that way.  Here's a close up picture.
I played along with the new MFT card challenge blog and this week it's a sketch!  It was perfect for what I wanted to use on my card today.  I love it when that happens.

Hi everyone!  I am sharing another Christmas thank you card using supplies from the Simon Says Stamp January card kit.  For this card, I used the Mr. and Mrs. Snowman die set which I thought coordinated with the "snow much thanks" sentiment.  I embellished his cute little black hat with a stamp and a tiny rhinestone.
I did the same Perfect Pearls technique for the sentiment as my last card and stamped them with black pigment ink then dabbed the purple Perfect Pearls on top.  Here's a close up pic that shows more of the purple sheen and the details of the snowman.
Here's what the die set looks like.  I die cut my snowman 3 times and adhered the layers together.  I then traced it over my smoke cardstock and cut it out as a background for him.  I cut out a small piece of orange cardstock for his nose and dabbed a blue marker for the eyes.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Snowflake Christmas thank you

Hi everyone!  My card today uses supplies from the Simon Says Stamp January card kit.  This is my second kit and I have to say I am in love with this one!  I made a commitment to myself to post at least twice from each kit and I think this month you may more.

After Christmas, I like to focus on Christmas thank you cards.  I love to send Christmas thank yous not only because thank you cards are a dying tradition, but it's a chance to STILL use my adorable Christmas papers, stamps and dies!!  And let's face it, I'm not quite ready to put these away!

Today's card uses Spellbinders' fabulous 2013 Snowflake Pendant and Bracket Borders One die sets along with goodies from the kit.
OK, so part of the kit was Perfect Pearls.  At first I was disappointed because I don't really delve into technique type things and I've never used them before.  So I posted on Facebook for advise and was amazed at all the response and ways to use them!  I gave them a try and stamped my sentiment and heart accent with a black pigment ink and dabbed the purple Perfect Pearls on top.  It turned out really pretty!  It's hard to tell in the picture, but here is a close up that shows a bit of the purple sheen.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

You're perfect in my book

Hi everyone!  Today's card uses supplies from a new card kit that I subscribe to from Simon Says Stamps.  I was in a rut with my stamps and thought it would be fun to subscribe to a monthly card kit to play with stamps and embellishments that are new to me.  Honestly, I wasn't very inspired with the stamp set in my first kit, but (to justify the cost) I've challenged myself to make 2 cards with EACH kit, so here is my first one.
The stamp set is called To Thine own Shelf which features a variety of books and shelf images.  The images are small in scale, so I made my card a 4" square.  I used a couple Spellbinders die sets to add some geometric interest and frame my stamped book shelf ensemble.

Rounded Squares set of 7:
Card Deets:
Spellbinders Dies: S4-408 Rounded Squares, S4-136 Classic Hearts and S5-219 A2 Modern Stationery  Nestabilities®
Stamps: Simon Says Stamp, To Thine Own Shelf
Ink: all inks used from Gina K Designs Color Companions
Other Supplies: Cream cardstock; October Afternoon Public Library 8x8 paper pad
Adhesive: Tombow USA Mono Multi liquid glue; Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Foam Squares
