Hummingbirds brighten my day

Hi everyone! Have you seen the new Hummingbird collection designed by Bibi Cameron for Spellbinders? If you're a hummingbird lover like me (take a look at my Instagram account for a short video of my window hummingbird feeder) you need to check it out! The collection has fabulous hummingbird dies, a stencil and of course a stamp/die set.
Today I have a fun single layer stamped scene card using the Hummingbird Build a Scene stamp & die set and the Hummingbird Sentiments stamp set. Check out what I made.

I started out by stamping the grass and flower images along the bottom, then I die cut it out with the Postage Edge Rectangles die set. I lightly inked the top and bottom with distress inks. Then I added my colored hummingbird, bees and sentiment. I will say it is SO hard to capture the awesomeness of the Anna's Hummingbird. The male has such a vibrant fuchsia along his neck that it almost looks fake. It seamlessly blends into a bright neon green. Capturing that with copic markers was a challenge. This little guy was seriously my 8th attempt!

Supplies used on this card:
Distress Oxide inks Rustic Wilderness and Broken China
Catherine Pooler inks Pixie Dust and Grass Skirt
Copic markers
I tried to add a few gems, but in the end thought the hummingbird and bees were enough by themselves. They are just so cute on their own.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!
