This card uses the colors from Dawn's Raspberry Suite color challenge #21 which were Lemon tart, Aqua mist, Chocolate chip and Cream. And the sketch is Karen's Sweet Sunday sketch #51.

Raspberry colors with a Mojo sketch

Hi everyone. My card today combines 2 of my favorite challenges -Dawn's Raspberry Suite color and Julee's Mojo Monday sketches.

OK, first, don't you just LOVE those circles?!? Julee blew me away with this week's sketch!!!! Dawn's colors this time were: Aqua Mist, Tangering Tango, Choc Chip, Kraft and Cream. Hummm... I LOVE these together! Lots of fun. I used the {ippity} stamps flower from Because of You for the image and the pattern papers are from SU Designer Prints.

This one is pretty straight forward, I added a touch of scoring at the bottom for some dimension. I also added some Zva rhinestones to each flower point.

Here is a detail shot of the flower. OK, I didn't trim the flower very carefully, so please look past my cutting! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Card Deets:
Stamps - Because of You
Ink - Memento Rich Cocoa
Paper - Chocolate Chip, kraft, cream, Tangerine Tango and Soft Sky DSP
Accessories - felt ribbon (SU!), circle nesties, Zva rhinestones, orange stardust pen, score-pal

Couple of SCS challenge cards and some Raspberry colors

Hi everyone -note, I edited this post to add my Raspberry Suite Color #19 challenge card. You know, I usually LOVE Dawn's colors -they are so fun and bright. Well, this challenge colors are fun and bright -just HARD to put together! Egads, it took me 3 days to come up with this. So be kind -LOL!

The colors were: Spring Moss, Pale Plum, Chocolate Chip, Raspberry Fizz and Aqua Mist. Hummm.... Seeing Maureen's darling ornament card today, it gave me the idea of doing an image with each color in it. So I pulled out my Ippity Stamps, Because of You set (more info on Ippity here). I stamped the flower image 3 times on white then again on the 3 colors. I cut out the flowers and the centers and glued them to this simple center panel. The sentiment is from Just Wanted to Say -love this versitile set! Both the Kaiser rhinestones and the fun hot pink dotted grosgrain ribbon is from Pink Hedgehog Papercrafts.

This card is for this week's Featured Stamper challenge, Biggan. First, let me say I love Birgit's work. I have loved her style forEVAH! Second to Sharon (notimetostamp), I have more cards in my favs from her than anyone else! I ended up chosing this lovely card.

I was inspired by the simple layout and fabulous bow!! That image is to die for. I don't have that stamp, so I used my new {Ippity} stamps and went with a fun whimiscal feel. The stamp set is called, Because of You. I colored the flower with copic markers and put a big ole rhinestone in the center! The sentiment is part of a bigger one, I just inked up the first word. The pp is Autumn Abundance by PTI and the ribbon is Orange Zest dotted satin.

This card is for this week's CAS challenge -to use sponging on your card! I sponged the pattern paper and the image panel. The super cute love birds image is from {Ippity} stamps, Because of You set. I stamped them in chocolate chip then added some silver pearls to the "cage" and a blue pearl on the boy bird and a pink pearl on the girl bird!! I also added stickles to their tails! The silk ribbon is from Sharon's Stamp Simply store!!

The hearts are chipboard stickers. I couldn't get the glue/glitter to be smooth on them, so I turned them over and stuck the STICKY side of the chipboard in the glitter directly -much better results. So the rounded side of the hearts are underneath, but with the glitter and all, you can't notice.

Card Deets (Raspberry):
Stamps: Because of You by and Just Wanted to Say {Ippity}
Paper: white, spring moss, pale plum, aqua mist, dark chocolate

Accessories: hot pink dotted grosgrain, rhinestones, score-pal

Stamps: Because of You by {Ippity}

Verve sneak peeks and Raspberry Suite challenge

Hi everyone, I'm here with a Verve sneak peek today! This month's release has several Christmas sets and one very special set designed in honor of breast cancer awareness. $10 from the sale of every Believe set will be donated to the Susan G Komen for the Cure fund!

Today we are peeking Christmas in the Air and Holly Jolly Christmas. I am sharing 2 cards using Christmas in the Air and I have to say, it's my FAV set of the release! Take a look.

OMG, how cute is that tree? I colored it with Copic markers, but it would look super cute pieced and it really easy to cut out (thanks Julee, you are always thinking ahead). Both cards use Basic Grey's new Christmas paper, Eskimo Kisses and lots of Kaiser rhinestones!

Be sure to check out the Verve Blog to see more samples from the amazing Divas and leave comments for a chance to win Verve goodies! AND for even more chances to win, be sure to check out the Release Week challenges going on in the Verve Forum for your chance to win the entire release!

This next card is for Dawn's Raspberry Suite color challenge. This time Dawn challenged us to use Chocolate Chip, Vintage Cream, New Leaf, Raspberry Fizz and Kraft! I love those colors, but this ended up being a challenge to use all 5 colors.

I REALLY wanted to use this vintage button from my granny's tin, so I designed the entire card around it! I have been saving this button for a long time. I am not too sure about the Chocolate card base, may change that later. The sentiment is from Verve's Just For You set. I punched a circle around it and then trimmed off the top and bottom. Then I tucked under some spare leaves I die cut.

Here is a little close up of my favorite button in the world!!

Card Deets (Christmas):
Stamps - Christmas in the Air
Paper - White, Aqua mist, Ripe Avocado, Eskimo Kisses
Accessories - PTI sweet blush twill, aqua satin, rhinestones, sewing machine

Card Deets (Raspberry):
Stamps - Bountiful Backgrounds and Just for You
Ink - VersaMark, black
Paper - Chocolate chip, kraft, Raspberry fizz, green leaf, vintage cream
Accessories - burlap string, Sizzlets leaves die, scallop border punch, Swiss dots EF, Granny's button

Some challenge cards

Hi everyone! I have a couple challenge cards to share with you today. First up, I combined today's SCS sketch challenge with Dawn's Raspberry Suite #17 -Aqua mist, Choc chip, Cream, Kraft and Pure poppy.
These are such fun colors and GUESS WHAT? They match Cosmo Cricket's Jolly by Golly! I used some of the 6x6 mini deck paper and chipboard stickers for this card. What fun! Me likie the chipboard stickers!! The sentiment is from Verve's Ornamental Christmas set -lots to choose from and they all fit in the Word Window punch. Love that!

Next up is Amber's Viva La Verve September 5 challenge. Well, close to it anyway. Her sketch this week, had a twist of specialty paper. I used some handmade paper that one of my stamping friends gave me. It has gold embossed dots on it. Really thick and lucious!

I said "close" to it cause as you can see, I strayed from the sketch -I just couldn't get those circles to work!! You should see my craft space, circles of all sizes and colors all over it!! So I scrapped it, went with a larger image panel, and called it good!

I used the amazing swans from Swan Song and embossed them with gold EP. I "fluffed" out the feathers by curling them with my fingernail and gluing them down only at the bottom. Then I put Stardust Stickles on them. I used my Labels Eight nesties and traced the inside with my gold paint pen from Marvy -very cool!! I just love the pops of pink on this.

Here is a picture of the inside. I did the same tracing effect on my Label's Eight die, but it bled a bit, so I had to color the entire rim with my gold pen. It's a bit too thick for my taste, but still looks elegant.

Here is a detail pic of the swans.
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget that World Cardmaking Day is this Saturday, Oct 3rd. There is going to be lots of challenges, fun and games over at Splitcoast in the Challenges Forum. Verve is gonna be there and I hope to see you there too!

Card Deets (sketch card):
Stamps - Ornamental Christmas
Ink - Choc Chip
Paper - Kraft, Vintage Cream, Choc Chip, Jolly by Golly PP
Accessories - silver pearls, silver cord, rectangle nesties, Cosmo chipboard stickers, word window punch, score-pal

Card Deets (Viva La Verve card):
Stamps - Swan Song, Anniversary Birds for sentiment
Paper - White, pink pirouette, specialty handmade paper
Ink - VersaMark, Gold craft ink
Accessories - Gold pearls, Gold grosgrain, sweet blush double stitched ribbon, gold cord, gold EP, Labels Eight, stickles, Liquid Gold opaque paint marker (Marvy)

I'm back with a double challenge card

Hi everyone! I am back from break. I went on a long weekend camping trip and when I returned we got a new computer! So, I finally have my internet hooked up and some of my programs transfered over. Man oh man, this process is super hard for the technically challenged! Seriously, I have some major heartburn going on!
But, I took a break and worked on a card -a double challenge card. I have a lot of catching up to do -LOL!

I used this week's Fall To Layout sketch #57 and Dawn's Raspberry Suite color challenge #16. Not too sure on this one, Dawn's colors were Summer Sunrise, Kraft, Cream and Brown. Hummm... I think I can make coffee cups work in just about any color, so I pulled out the new Delightful and Delicious and Bountiful Backgrounds sets. The cups were stamped 2 times, on cream and then again on Summer Sunrise for piecing. I colored the inside of the cups with a copic marker that kinda looked like Kraft (W1). The summer sunrise squares are stamped with the dotted background and embossed in clear. Again, my favorite trick when I don't have the color of ink.

Oh and see that ribbon? It's the lucious Martha Stewart Piped Nylon ribbon found at Big Lots for $1!! I bought tons of colors and styles! Me sooo likey Big Lots!

Card Deets not linked above:
Accessories - square punch, clear embossing powder, silver pearls (Michael's), sponge, paper piercer, white gel pen, circle nesties

Raspberry color challenge #15

Hi everyone! I took a small break today from redoing my boy's play room while they are with my mom this week! I'll take a couple pics to post, but it is BRIGHT! I painted the walls Green Galore and Ballet Blue (anyone else think in terms of SU or PTI colors?)!! I seriously thought my sister was going to PASS OUT when I opened the paint can -LOL!! The accents are all Yo-yo Yellow and Real Red -FUN FUN FUN!
Anyway, on to my challenge card. This is for Dawn's Raspberry Color challenge #15. The colors this week were Spring Moss, Melon Berry, Pink Hibiscus and cream. By now, I have almost all the PTI colors in cardstock, but very little in ink or DP. So I found that a way to get custom DP is to emboss the cardstock in clear! Presto!

This card uses the dotted background from Verve's Bountiful Backgrounds. I stamped it on Melon Berry and embossed it in clear. I used it as a strip at the bottom and used the smallest blossom dies on it too. The bloom on the left has a circle of cream that I distressed a bit and randomly dragged the edges in versamark and also embossed in clear.

I stamped the stems and leaves with Verve's Thankful Blossoms set (my go to for these!) and the sentiment is from Verve's Fluttering By. The center buttons and Kaiser pearls are from Heidi's store (Pinkhedgehog Papercrafts).

Oh and P.S. see the embroiderary floss I used on the buttons? I made a total SCORE at the Goodwill yesterday and found an entire craft box filled with different colors for $2!! Woot!

Before I head back to the playroom, I wanted to mention that Verve's Project Parade is going on right now! Stop by and see what the Divas have cooked up as a Hostess Gift! Thanks for stopping by, see you later in the week.

Card Deets other than mentioned above:
Paper - vintage cream, spring moss, melon berry, hibiscus burst, spring moss bitty squares and dots
Accessories - Hibiscus burst bitty dotted satin (PTI), Upper crest border punch (Fiskars), circle nesties, sewing machine (yes, again!)

Featured stamper -Joanne and a new Raspberry Suite challenge

Hi everyone, I have a second post today. Well, it's nearly 11pm, so it's almost not today anymore -LOL! This will be short cause I am sooo sleepy!

This card is a double challenge card. This week's featured stamper is my former DDC gal -Joanne AKA Sleepyinseattle!! I am so thrilled for Joanne! She is super talented and a sweetheart. Congrats Joanne, enjoy your day! I chose this card to case. I changed up the colors and the image and the scalloped panels a bit. But I kept with her bright colors and amazing shape and layering!

I used the colors from Dawn's Raspberry Suite color challenge #14-to use Plum Pudding, Raspberry Fizz, cream and Burgundy. To my surprise, my felt flowers from Zva Creative all matched it perfectly!! I used Verve's Petals and Stems set for the stems and the Black Tie Birdies for the sentiment.

BIG news everyone!!! This week celebrates Verve Stamps 2 year anniversary release. Seriously, there are some FUN stuff going on. Every day the Divas will be hosting a GIVEAWAY and Julee out did herself with sketches to play along with everything culminating at the RELEASE PARTY this Friday evening!

Raspberry chipboard cherries

Hi everyone! Yep, I used more of my Basic Grey chipboard!! This time I used some of the Lemonade chip stickers which just happen to be a PERFECT match for Dawn's Raspberry Suite color challenge. This week's challenge is to use Spring Moss, Raspberry Fizz, Cream and the new dark red color Scarlett Jewel. I don't have any Scarlett Jewel and I'm not sure what it compares to, but the dark circle cherries on this chip sticker looks like it to me!!

I put little vintage cream buttons on each cherry, embossed the bottom spring moss layer with a cuttlebug borders folder, and used some of my new raspberry bitty dots and squares DP! The sentiment is from Verve's Circular Sayings -one of my go-to fav sets! I think this turned out really fun. I am DETERMINED to used up all my chipboard stickers, so I hope you like seeing cards using it -LOL!

AND, before I forget, the Verve project parade is going on! This month's theme is Divine Details where each Diva tells you all a bit of our cardmaking process and some of our favorite cardmaking details. I have been blown away by Jen and Amy's posts so far. Mine will be up in a couple days. EEK - I best be gettin' to it, and I hope you all won't be BORED with my details!

Card Deets:
Stamps - Circular Sayings
Ink - black, raspberry fizz for sponging
Paper - Vintage Cream, Spring moss, Raspberry fizz Bitty dots and squares
Accessories - burlap string, raspberry and cream buttons, small oval punch, cuttlebug border EF, Vintage cream twill

Why not? Repeat sketch in raspberry colors!

Hi everyone! Happy 4th of July! I have to make this super short, heading on out to a bbq at my sister's house!! FUN!!

Anyway, I titled this post "Why Not" cause I liked my sketch card from Wednesday, I made another for Dawn's Raspberry color challenge 11 -why not? It's just about the same card jsut changed up to her colors of New Leaf, Raspberry Fizz, Pure Poppy, Black and light gray. Well, I don't have any New Leaf of any kind, but I think these letters are very much a grassy green, so I went with it! When you start using letters up from a chipboard pack, you have to get creative with the letters you have left, but my hubby Bill helped me come up with a-l-o-h-a. AND, I live in a town called Aloha, so how perfect is that??

I took my picture in the sun, and WHO knew that Raspberry Fizz was SO BRIGHT!! Get out your sunglasses -LOL! I went with the same felt flowers as the last one, but this time I added a felt butterfly in the Raspberry Fizz color and added some stickles to his wings. I don't know who makes the butterfly, I got it at my LSS in many colors. I have almost nothing in a light gray color except for a couple scraps of cardstock, so the frame on the white panel is done with the gray and I brought in the red with the center brads.

I had a question from my last post on what kind of glue I use with Chipboard. I use either my normal Tombo Multi-liquid glue (green bottle) or Aleens thick designer Tacky Glue which is what I use for felt and anything that is hard to hold! Both of these are sold at Joanns and Craft Warehouse. I hope this helps!
Thanks for stopping by!

Card Deets:
Stamps - none
Paper - light gray, raspberry fizz, white and black, felt butterfly (LSS), stickles, kaiser rhinestones
Accessories - felt flowers, red brads, black dotted organdy, circle nesties and circle punch, Diecut Chipboard Letters (DCWV Nana's Nursery), felt flowers from Craft Embellishment World, dotted organdy and brads(PinkHedgehog Papercrafts)

Verve Sneak Peeks have begun!

Hi everyone! Well, it's time for the Verve Stamps June release sneak peeks! We have 3 great days of peeks with the release party on Friday, June 26th. I hope you can join us, where there will be fun chatting, more cards peeked and fun prizes!!

Today's set being peeked is called Kindred Spirits. WOW! Julee never ceases to amaze me. Seriously, month after month! This set has great Fleur-de-lis images in several sizes -even a border! And, of course there are fabulous sentiments too.

My card uses one of the damask-ish images (which is actually 4 Fleur-de-lis images scrunched together in one) stamped in alternating colors. I love how I can make my own background with this set and customize it to match any paper or flower I need!!

The colors for this card actually came from Dawn's Raspberry Suite color challenge -to use Berry Sorbet, Melon Berry, Chocolate Chip and Vintage Cream. Well, I don't have the Melon color AT ALL, so I substituted ColorBox Papaya Cream (the only thing that I had that was even close). The sentiment is stamped from the SU large oval punch and I drug the edges thru the Berry Sorbet ink and then framed it with another oval punched from Chocolate Chip cs. Isn't that prima flower fabulous? Man, Prima sure does it right! I put a button with some burlap string in the center and added a couple punched branches (from Martha Stewart) on the side! Some of PTI's fabulous ribbons finish the card!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the Verve Blog to check out the other Diva samples!! AND Julee has a chance for one lucky commenter to win a Verve-y prize!!
Card deets:
Stamps - Kindred Spirits
Ink - Berry Sorbet, Papaya Cream, Chocolate Chip
Paper - Berry Sorbet, Chocolate Chip, Vintage Cream
Accessories - Button, prima flower, large oval punch (SU!), berry sorbet grosgrain, chocolate brown dotted satin, MS branch punch
