Today I am excited to share a couple projects that use the fabulous set, American Hero. These cards were inspired by my cousin who has FINALLY come home after serving our country with 4 tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. You can see my older blog post about Kyle here.
This first circle card celebrates his homecoming with a celebration! I stamped the Celebrate sentiment, colored it and cut out each letter so it would fit on the square panel. The stars are colored and cut out as well. The stripes along the bottom are from Bountiful Backgrounds and the cake and celebrate sentiment are from Birthday Bash.
This next card is a simple card that says it all.
So, let me know what you think about our new team that focuses on older Verve sets! Are there any sets in particular you would like me to use? I welcome all suggestions!!Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!
Card Deets:
Stamps - American Hero, Bountiful Backgrounds, Birthday Bash (Verve Stamps)Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper - White and Kraft CS
Accessories - Classic and Scalloped circle and classic square Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Burlap string (May Arts), Sketch Copic markers, Stickles in yellow, red and blue rhinestones (KaiserCraft)
Great cards!!!! Love the second one...simple, but really Pops!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards! So happy for your family that your cousin is home safe. I love the idea of showcasing the older sets, I think that some may forget what treasures they have collecting dust.
ReplyDeleteFantastic cards. So happy that your Cousin is home now. Big Thanks & Kudos to him for his tours of duty and a safe homecoming.
ReplyDeleteYou are the master of the circle card, Michelle! Absolutely LOVE it!! Great CAS one as well - for the "manly man" LOL! Hugest thanks to him for serving and so thrilled he is home safe and sound now :)
ReplyDeleteLove the showcasing of older sets too. Too easy to always play with new goodies to the neglect of the older ones. I just love the flower from Love's Flower but have a hard time using it (read no Copics) so would love some ideas and tips. Paper piecing is one I guess but would love to see you use it on a card or few ;)
Love these, Michelle! A big thanks to your cousin for his service. So happy he's home safe!
ReplyDeleteSee YOU soon! {squeal}
Your cousin is definitely a hero and this card is a wonderful tribute! YES! I am one of those grateful Verve fans that is happy to see some divas concentrating on the older sets! They so often get shoved aside and we forget there's so much potential for these sets. Kudos to those of you who continue to inspire us with the oldies but goodies!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your cards, been a rough week and I love escaping by looking at your cards, you are an inspiration!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful tribute cards to not only your cousin, but all American heros! I like the idea of using the older stamps sets, too. Sometimes I feel there is too much pressure for stamp companies to keep pumping out new images, and, as stampers, we both know we have a hard time using all that we have as is. I love all the Verve stamps, so wherever your insspiration takes you... :-)
ReplyDeleteLove them Michelle, the craft paper is so perfect for these designs! So happy to hear your cousin is home safe and sound! Heartfelt thanks and appreciation to him and his family for their sacrifice!!!
ReplyDeleteThese are so cool! I adore this set and have never gotten it and I should. Great cards Michelle.
ReplyDeletetwo great cards. love the red white and blue on the kraft! really pops!
ReplyDeleteLove this, Michelle! I don't think enough patriotic cards could be made for all those that are gracious enough to serve for the rest of us!!! Thanks...
