Saying goodbye to Spellbinders and Giveaway

Hi everyone!  I wanted to let you all know that I have stepped down from the Spellbinders blog team.  WHAT you say!?!  I KNOW right?!  I'd have to be crazy to leave Spellbinders.  It was a hard decision to make as this is my 5th year with Spellbinders and you all know my love for them, but alas, my part time job with FSJ has left me little to no extra time to work on other projects.  Spellbinders deserves more than I can give at the moment.
Edited to add:  Based on some comments and emails I received, I want to say that I am not leaving crafting or this blog.  My job with FSJ allows me to craft every day and much of my work can be shared here on my blog!

In honor of my time with Spellbinders, I thought I would share some of my favorite projects from over the years.
I altered this wooden picture frame back in 2011 and it was one of my most popular projects I ever made for Spellbinders.  I still get emails asking how I made this and where to find the wooden frame.  FYI, I bought it at Craft Warehouse.
I was assigned the die set, Marvelous Squares for the CHA booth back in 2012 and made this layout featuring a pic of my little dudes.  It ended up being picked up for publication and appeared in Paper Creations magazine.  Now my sons think they're famous!
This is my second most popular project I made for Spellbinders.  I made this card in 2013 when I was on the Spellbloggers team.  I used a variety of Nestabilities die sets on each square.  I still randomly see it when I scroll thru Pinterest!
Here's a fun colorful card I made using the Celebra'tions collection of stamps, dies and accessories.  This is so me, bright and colorful flowers with a dash of washi tape!
And lastly, here is a fav of mine I made this year.  This one went to my sister who loves the color purple.
--------------------------------------------------------------
So... how about a little giveaway?
To help me say goodbye and share their generosity over the years, I have some Celebr'ations stamps and dies to give away.  AND as I have been doing some cleaning out, I have added some gently used rhinestone packs, 6x6 paper pads and other goodies to the pile.  I have 2 giveaways and all you need to do to enter is leave me a comment on this post.
I will announce a winner on Tuesday the 21st.
Bundle One
Create a Cone die set
Pierced Rectangles die set
Cool Caribbean ink pad
My Friend stamp set
Celebra'tions Prints paper
variety of other goodies

Bundle Two

Many Words stamp set
Celebra'tions Special Occasions Prints paper

So with a blessed and heavy heart I say goodbye to Spellbinders Paper Arts.  Thank you for believing in me and your generosity over the years.  I loved my time with you and I'll be stalking your future releases and wont be a stranger!

P.S. I mentioned above I've been doing some cleaning out, well I've put aside some items to make a few more crafty goody boxes and envelopes for sale.  So keep an eye out for those coming soon, please email me if you want to reserve one now.

Party without cake...

Hi everyone!  I have a fun party cake card to share.  This cake uses goodies from Fun Stampers Journey, the Yummy & Delicious collection. I did some paper piecing on the cake image and embellished it with some fun flowers from the Spring Bloom Minis die and enamel dots!
Looks good enough to eat, right?!?  The frame die around the cake is from the die set, Snapshot Frames.  It's a fun versatile die set with accent dies from many holidays.

Ice Cream card cause it's hot hot hot!

Hi everyone!  I have a fun ice cream card to share.  OK, so it's been hot here in Portland and I mean REALLY freaky deaky hot here.  We've had a 3 week heat wave like none I can remember.  Some days all I can think about is ice cream!

So in honor of all things cool, here is a card that uses the super fun Yummy & Delicious collection from Fun Stampers Journey.  I used the Hello Scoop stamp set and paper pieced the ice cream part and colored the cones/sticks with reinkers and blending solution.  A little bit of twine, rhinestones and sequins add the finishing touches.
Some of the elements on this card are from the new punch system FSJ released in June.  PUNCHES you say??  Why yes!  I know it's been dies, dies, dies for years, but hey this new punch system is fun and I may have rediscovered my love for punches!  The new system consists of one punch handle and then you slide in any one of the several punch heads.  Super cool!  Here is a picture of what I used on my card.
Just a reminder that FSJ products are only available through a Journey Coach (I am not a coach), please visit Fun Stampers Journey and click on the button "find a coach" at the very top right.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  Stay cool all you fellow PNWers!!

Celebrate the 4th of July

Hi everyone!  Happy Fourth of July!
Some of you have noticed that it's been a month since my last post and that's been for several reasons.  One, working 20 hours a week for Fun Stampers Journey has taken me away from my extra crafting time, thus less posts.  Two, it's summer now and that means lots of taking the boys to day camp, visiting my mom, etc.  And lastly, I prepped for and attended FSJ's first annual convention!  I've never been a demo or coach and thus never attended a stamping convention before.  Boy what a wonderful experience that was!  It was held in Phoenix this year and I promise to share some photos of all fun stuff including some pics from my onstage demo!
But, I do have a card to share today.  A fun patriotic shaker card!
For this card, I used my Stars Five nestabilities dies.  Nestabilities dies are perfect for making custom shaped shaker cards.  You have a variety of nesting sizes in each set and can make any number of sized frames.
Below is a pic of how I made the star shaker piece.  After I loaded the "base" with sequins, I peeled off the adhesive border and stuck my blue star frame over top.  I should mention that I adhered the acetate to the blue frame first, then adhered it to my shaker base.
Thanks for stopping by and have a safe and happy 4th of July!
