You make me smile

Hi everyone!!  I have a fun card to share today.  Everyone has been making and blogging Christmas cards lately (myself included), but for some reason I'm just not ready for Christmas, so I used the cute Typewriter die and made a bright friendship card!  I had the adorable papers from Pink Paislee on my desk from my last card and fell in love with the bright pink/yellow flower piece.
To make the typewriter pop a bit, I sponged in some of the details with white ink and adhered a small piece of white cardstock behind the "keyboard" part.  It's so versatile, you could stamp any kind of sentiment on the typewriter's "paper".
Here is the die:

Amazing silhouette

Hi everyone!  I have a Silhouette card to share today.  It's funny, when I made this card I had it in mind with a Mother's Day sentiment, but then changed it last minute realizing it's November and you guys probably don't want to see a Mother's Day card!  LOL!  That just shows you how off my card making "calendar" is!
I layered the silhouette dies with my Floral Ovals and Classic Oval dies.  I just love how everything is proportionally perfectly!  For the rose accents, I used my Bitty Blossoms dies which have been seriously neglected of late!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  Here is a close up picture.

You are amazing in gold

Hi everyone!!  I just can't seem to get enough of gold lately.  I'm telling you last year this time this "silver girl" would have never believed all the gold I am using!
First I die cut the Hexagon openings into my cardstock and after carefully lining up with the openings, I applied the washi tape behind them to the card base.
My butterfly has 3 layers, the first is the glitter gold, the next is white cardstock with gold ink on the edges and the top is vellum.  To make the gold glitter butterfly, I layered the washi tape to cardstock and die cut.  The butterfly shown below ended up being too big, but you get the idea.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  Here is a close up picture.

Noel Christmas card

Hi everyone!  I have a fun Christmas card to share today.  This one uses the Diagonal Chevron die that I used on my last card.  For my focal point, I used my favorite Christmas die of all time the Layered Poinsettia and accented it with the leaves from the new Holly Twig and Leaves die set.
To make the bottom part, I die cut gold mirror and red cardstock and glued the negative pieces into the openings.  I used a piece of gold glitter tape to bring in more gold accents.  I haven't always been a fan of gold, more of a silver girl.  But this new gold trend has really changed my mind and now I can't get enough!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  Here is a close up picture.

Wood veneer flower card

Hi everyone!  I have a fun card to share.  I have quite the stash of wood veneer shapes and almost never use them.  It's one of those things where I think they're pretty and just want to save them -kwim?  Anyway, I pulled them out and used 3 on this card.  Woohoo!
The cute circle frame was made by combining the Splendid Circles and Standard Circles dies.  The diagonal strips are the negative pieces from the new Diagonal Chevron die!  (Stay tuned for the card they came from on Saturday).
Here is the Diagonal Chevron die, totally cute, right?!?  I used the top 3 and 4 strips for my card, I die cut that part of the die an extra time for the bottom of my card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  Here is a close up picture.

Snowflake Bliss cards

Hi everyone!  I have a couple snowflake cards to share.  The white on white Christmas card trend is pretty hot right now.  For these I peppered in some silver and pale blue.  For my cards, I die cut the Snowflake Bliss dies in silver, white, and pale blue and mixed and matched the pieces until I found a couple combos I liked.
This die set is retired. Here is a link to all current Snowflake Dies by Spellbinders.

Here's my first card.  This one uses the Lacey Squares and the Classic Squares to make the frame.
Here's a quick look at how I made the frame.  I layered my die cuts and to "hide" the square underneath, I trimmed it a smidge smaller than my lacey square:

My second card uses Labels One combined with Majestic Labels One for the frame.  To this day, this is still one of my favorite Label shapes!

White birdcage card

Hi everyone!  I was so inspired by the Splitcoast Stampers Featured Stamper challenge that I played along again!  I described the challenge on my last post.  The Featured Stamper this week is Monia.  She has an amazing gallery I immediately fell in love with this lovely card.
I was drawn to the white on white.  But it's harder to make than you think -I kept trying to add in some color!  But in the end, kept it all white and I love how it turned out.  I used a birdcage instead of a house and substituted an all white poinsettia flower for the ribbon embellishment.
This bird cage die is so beautiful and the little door even opens!  Here is what the die set look like:

FS404 70th birthday card

Hi everyone!  I have a fun card to share today.  I made time to play in this week's Featured Stamper challenge over on Splitcoast Stampers.  For those of you new to this challenge, each week an active member of SCS is chosen and the challenge is to find a card in their gallery and CASE it.  You must change at least 2 things and give credit to the stamper.  I used to play along every Sunday and stalked the challenge thread Saturday night to see who the Featured Stamper was.  But alas, the kids got older and I got busier and now I just don't have the time.  But this was so much fun I want to try and make this a regular thing now!!

The Featured Stamper this week is Monia.  She has an amazing gallery with so much detail and flowers, I think I was a kid in a candy store picking a card to CASE!  I chose this lovely card.  I changed the color scheme, card shape, main flower type among other things.  But I kept to the card layout.
My mom turned 70 last week (I didn't send her a card yet, I know, I know!), and she loves my cards that have more layers and flowers, so this one was perfect for her.  Her favorite color is purple, so I chose to work with Bazzill's Sour Grape cardstock for my main color.
My flower is from Spellbinders Create-a-Rose set.  I went a little crazy and added a few more layers than normal.  You can see a step out tutorial on how I made the rose on this blog post.  There are also complete PDF instructions on Spellbinders web page on the Create-a-Rose page.  The card shape is from Labels 42 and coordinating accent layers are from the Labels 42 Decorative Elements set.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  Here is a close up picture.  You can even see the subtle glitter I added to the flower!
