Paper inspired love card

Hi everyone!  I have a fun card to share today. I received the new My Mind's Eye Just Sayin' 6x6 pad and was TOTALLY inspired by this gorgeous paper in it.
Isnt' it lovely with all the flowers, flourishes and hearts?!?
I dug through my dies to see what I had to help recreate this gorgeous look. Here is what I came up with.
First, I knew I wanted to work with the new Cascade Dots die from the new Decorative Card Front series.  These are A2 card sized and there are 9 designs released in the series.  They are on pre-order with shipping in October.
I used it as a stencil with some embossing paste for some fun texture.  After playing around with it for awhile, I wanted to make it pink and to do that I added a drop of reinker to it.  Mix it in and you have a custom color!
Next I taped the die cut down so it wouldn't move, I spread the paste starting from the lower right corner.  I did it kind of messily instead of spreading it precicely and smoothly.  After removing the stencil, you do have a minute or so to make some corrections.
I also used the new Sentiments 3 dies.  I just LOVE the new Sentiments series dies they are so pretty and loopy!  There are 3 new ones and they are also on pre-order shipping out in October.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening!!  Here is a close up pic.

Conversation bubbles card

Hi everyone!!  I have a fun card to share.  This one uses two of the four new Conversation Bubble die sets that were just released as part of the Die D-Lites line.  They are on pre-order and will ship in October.
Here are the 2 sets I used:
Weeeee.... They're totally adorable, right!?!
I die cut a bubble shape into my cardstock front and then popped it up on dimensionals over some cute green chevron patterned paper for a fun look.  For my "surprise" cloud bubble, I hand stitched through the little openings with the blue linen thread.  I used a needle threader and this took some time.  You do have to be careful as one of my little openings tore.  Next time I will try thinner floss, but I'm happy with the pop of color it gives!
I wanted to use the die cut which was left over from the front opening somewhere on the card and I ended up using it on the inside.  Turned out cute!!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening!!  Here is a close up pic of the bubbles.

Are you a Pinterest mom?

Hi everyone!  Are you a Pinterest mom?  You know, someone who goes all out with the fabulous party favors, gift baskets, party decorations and back to school gifts?  Well, I want to be... dream to be... but am I?

This year was my first year making Back to School gifts.  Yes, my boys are going into the 5th and 3rd grade, it's about time I know!  I've been collecting some small items for a "Teacher Survival Kit" theme over the last few months (some snacks, chocolate, Advil, make up, nail polish and files), so I thought I was totally on track with being a successful Pinterest mom!
However, it occurred to me yesterday afternoon as I was RUSHING to put together the baskets at the last minute that, sadly, I'm not.  Good grief, where does the time go?  I waited to the last day, went back and forth on what to do, and my trip to the Dollar store for a cute basket or bowl/tin failed and I ended up with "boat" shaped baskets.  They are cute, just not what I had in mind.
So you ready?  Here's how they turned out.  Don't judge!  lol!
Initially I wanted to make a cute banner lavishly stretching from end to end, but since it was 3:30 and I had literally less than an hour to finish up, that went out the window.  I switched it up to a "stick" tag after remembering the new Build-a-Tag One die set from the Celebra'tions line.
SAVED!
This tag has cute brackets cut into the tag allowing it to slide over a stick or in my case, a paper straw.  They are just adorable and were so quick and easy.

I accented my tags with a rosette and pierced circles.  I love the rosette dies because they have the scored lines right there for you!  Super fast and easy to make!  Each rosette requires 2 die cuts, when they are folded each make 1/2 the bloom.  A tip when assembling the rosettes is to start one with the fold UP and the next with the fold DOWN.  This will allow them to nest perfectly when gluing together.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!  Here is a close up pic of the tags.

Pretty Petals card, part 2

Hi Everyone!  Welcome to my second post using the new Flower dies from the Pretty Petals die series.  This card uses Pretty Petals C, which is a set of 4 dies.  You can find them all in the "What's New" section on Spellbinders site and are on pre-order.  These sets are small and have a price of $10.
See the leaves on the stem?  They are the negative pieces from the 1/2 daisy bloom!  Yep, I die cut it in olive and used the negative pieces for the leaves.  Double duty -love it!  I hand cut the stem.

This card was also made as a sample for Spellbinders to demonstrate these dies on the UK shopping channel called Craft and Create (kinda like our HSN).  Here is what the die set looks like:

Chevron border hello

Hi everyone!  Oh boy, have you had a chance to check out the "What's New" section on Spellbinders site?  WOW!  The newest release have some pretty fun trendy and simple dies! Even cover plates!  They are in pre-order right now, with shipping starting in October.
I am so in love, it was hard to pick which fun new die to work with!

For my card, I used the super fun Chevron border die.  First I die cut it in white and then again with strips of colored cardstock.  I adhered the Chevron border outline part and inserted the color pieces in a rainbow pattern.
The sentiment is from Sentiments 5.  This release has 3 new Sentiments sets each with 2 sentiments, they are small sets with a price of $10.
I added a small blossom from an oldie but goodie set, Bitty Blossoms.  See the little "leaves" on the left?  I used a green chevron piece for it!  Double duty.

Here's a picture of how I die cut the colored pieces.  I was able to get all the colors except for purple in one pass.  Easy peasy!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Best day ever

Hi everyone!  My boys went back to school today and I am still wondering WHERE summer went?  So while they were off at school, I sat down and made a card!  Yeah, there are some advantages to a quiet house.  lol!

My card uses the Celebra'tions stamp/die set called Fun Tags and one of the matching tag dies from the Build a Tag Two die set.  There are 2 sets in the Build a Tag series and I am SO stoked to finally have a tag die set!  They come with impression plate inserts making them super versatile.
I used some patterned paper from MME and strategically trimmed and placed the mustache pattern -heehee.  What I like about stamping on black cardstock and the chalkboard look is using my colored pencils to highlight the image.  How fun!  I used a pale mint green color and added some color to my tag image.  The little flower accent is from the Blooms Four die set.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
