Fabulous Stamped Frames blog hop

Hi everyone!  Welcome to a special blog hop!  Today several members of the CardMaker Blog team and Gina K. Designs team are showcasing stamps used in Melanie Muenchinger's newest book Fabulous Stamped Frames, published by Annie's. This card making tutorial book features 36 projects using seven of Melanie's bold and line art frame stamp sets from Gina K. Designs.  These versatile sets each contain a frame stamp large enough to fill an A2 card front, which can be rotated portrait or landscape style, along with coordinating images and sentiments, that allow both beginners and advanced crafters to enjoy endless design possibilities for year-round themes, occasions and styles. Not all sets are needed to get a ton of instruction and ideas from this book!
Melanie challenged us to each put our own spin on one of the sets, so we hope you enjoy what you see today!  She and Gina will be sharing videos as well to show more of the book and some of the stamps in action.

My card uses the set, Fun Year Round. I love the circles in this set and the little image stamps really makes it versatile.  I partially inked frame and filled the circles with a combo of stamped images and paper pieced circles.  The sentiment was cut out from the pattern paper.

More Gina K July release cards

Hi everyone!  I have a few more cards to share from Gina K's July release.  First up is a card using the set, Up Up and Away illustrated by Theresa.  I just love the balloons in this set!  I colored them with copic markers and cut them out.  The background is a stamp from American Made.  I accented the card with some simple sequins and stickles.

Next up is a card using Lots of Dots Alphabet, illustrated by Beth.  I stamped my sentiment in colorful inks and did some hand doodling around the edges.  Remember back when  doodling was all the rage?  I chose the colors to match this happy paper from My Mind's Eye, Kate & Co "Cambridge Court".  I made the flowers with the Spellbinders Rose Creations dies.

My cards use Inks, Buttons and Ribbons from the Gina's Color Companion collection.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  Here are some close up pictures.

JustRite Friday challenge #102

Hi everyone!  The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store is sponsoring this week's Friday Challenge from JustRite Stampers, so I had to play along!
This week it's a color challenge to use: Blue, Yellow and Pastel Pink.  The photo below gives you a visual for these colors together.
I went pretty simple with my cards.  I used JustRite's set, Floral Thank You and was lucky to have some My Mind's Eye washi tape in the challenge colors.  In case you were wondering, I brought in the blue with the rhinestones.  Not much I know, but hey, it's there!
Here's the pink flowers, yellow washi tape card
And the yellow flowers, pink washi tape card

Check out the prize package!  Talk about amazing, Sharon is offering paper and embellies from the Modern Romance Collection by Webster's Pages, along with coordinating Silk and Seam Binding!  I even spy some washi tape in there!!
So head on over to the JustRite Stampers blog for all the details on how to play along.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

My Spellbinder videos

Hi everyone!!  I thought I would post all of the Spellbinders videos I have done so far.  I am not sure how the search functions work on YouTube, but after receiving some emails I figured out that a search of "Michelle Woerner" doesn't always show all my videos -lol!!  Not too mention there is another Michelle Woerner out there who posts videos of her riding in horse shows!!

So here we go, this was my first video showing how I altered a journal from Michaels:

This video showed how I made this summer layout:

This video shows how I used the letterpress technique using the new 3D M-Bossabilities dies:

My last video showed how I made this scrapbook page focusing on the PageMaps dies:

And stay tuned!  I have a brand new video posting this Saturday and I show, in detail, my favorite way to make flowers using the Rose Creations dies!

Hi everyone!  Welcome to Day 2 of the Gina K Designs DT Inspiration Blog Hop were we hope to inspire you with many beautiful ideas for the sets released in July! As you hop through the blogs, make sure to leave a comment on each because we will choose a few random commenters and they will win a grab bag of Gina's products!! To see the full list of winners check the Big News forum at Stamp TV a couple of days after the hops.
Today we are spotlighting 2 sets:
Up Up and Away, designed by Theresa
Lots of Dots Alphabet, designed by Beth
First up is a card I made with Up Up and Away.  I just love the balloon images in this set.  They are so versatile, you can color or paper piece them.  For my card, I colored them with copics to match the zig zag stripes (from the Pretty Patterns set) stamped in Turquoise Sea and Sweet Mango.  Some simple twine and sequin accents and done!
My next card uses Lots of Dots Alphabet. For this card, I took advantage of some odds and ends laying around on my desk.  I love how with some simple letters, you can make your own sentiment pull things together for a cute and simple card!  The accent butterfly is from the new set, Stately Flowers 7.

Ready for the hop?  Check out all the amazing designs and inspiration:

Spellbinders Shape It Up Sneak Peek and Giveaway Day Five

Hi everyone!!  Welcome to Day 5 of the Spellbinders Shape It Up Sneak Peek and Giveaway.  I am excited to show you two new dies templates.
The first set is a new set called Sentiments, which is a set of 14 fabulous sentiments that are perfect for cards and scrapbook pages.
The second is a new set in the Cut/Fold/Tuck die series called Fascination, which is a set of 6 dies making 3 amazing flower blossoms.

Supply List:
Spellbinders Die Templates:
S5-200 Sentiments
CFT S5-206 Fascination
E8-001 Classic Scallop Edgeabilities
S4-346 Labels Twenty-Two
GC-001 Grand Calibur® die cutting and embossing machine

Cross Promotional Partners:
Want2Scrap©: Say it With Bling, 72 ct Silver rhinestones
Bazzill Paper Basics®: Marshmallow Card Shoppe cardstock
My Mind's Eye™: Indie Chic "Nutmeg" 6x6 paper pad
ClearSnap®: ColorBox Black pigment ink
Buttons Galore: white, yellow and aqua buttons
May Arts: Burlap String in Natural
Xyron®: Adhesive Eraser Cube
SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L™: 3D Foam squares

To start, I made a 5x7 card base and trimmed dotted pattern paper for the top and striped paper for the bottom.  Then, using the Sentiments Friend die, I cut the shape out of the lower right part of striped paper.  Next I inked the die with ocean ink and die cut white cardstock.  By inking the die directly, this letter pressed the ink into the cardstock highlighting the word with ink.  Note, with this technique I do not emboss the die.  I found that if I embossed it while it was inked the paper had a tendency to tear at the edge of the letters.  The letters ink perfectly with just the die cutting process.  Once I had the word, I adhered it into the opening of the striped paper.
Next I created the die cut border with a strings of buttons accent.  To do this, I die cut and embossed the Classic Scallop Edger with the Triple Dot insert.  As you can see in the photo on the left, I taped them together onto the white cardstock.  Not only is this a time saver, but it ensures they are perfectly aligned.
To make the strings of buttons, I laid out the buttons with the spacing I wanted, then strung them with burlap string.  Next I wrapped the string around the border and glued it down to the card.
Next I die cut all the pieces for the flower blossom.  You can see from the photo on the left that the Fascination dies comes with the outline die and the CFT pattern die (I separated the smallest blossom for demonstration).  I line them up and die cut them at the same time.  On my card, I have layered my new dies with some older dies.  The base of the flower blossom is from Labels Twenty-Two, then is the largest blossom in the Fascination, then a Classic Scalloped Circle and it's topped off with the smallest blossom from Fascination.
In the picture on the left, you can see I added adhesive squares to most of the layers to give the blossom some depth.
Before I remove the large blossom from the dies, I rub it with my adhesive remover.  This takes off all the little paper fibers that can accumulate and leaves it a crisp die cut.  Then I begin to fold back the pieces of the die cut.  I like to get a crisp fold, so I use the pointy edge of my ruler to fold them back and press them into place.
After all the pieces have been folded up, you tuck them in under the petal on their left.  You can see that process in the picture on the right.

Here is another card I made with these die sets. I love the fresh look the tangerine ink has embossed into the word Inspire!
I hope I have inspired you to give the Cut/Fold/Tuck dies a try and don't be afraid to mix and match your older shapes with the new!
