Hugs to a friend

Hi everyone!  I have a couple cards to share with you today.  First up is a card I made for my friend Theresa Momber!  She illustrated this fabulous Gina K Designs set, Whimsical Spring, which is a DARLING set!  I stamped and cut out the leaves image and added a couple flower sequins to accent.  The pattern paper is MME, from the Dwell 6x6 pad.  Theresa made the Spellbinders DT and this card is full of love and congratulations for her!!
Next up is a card I made for the this week's Featured Stamper challenge honoring BeccaBatGirl, and I chose this cutie card to case.   I changed the arrangement a bit, putting the sentiment below the image. I changed up the shape of the image panel. The image is from Unity's KOM, Take Your Time. Isn't this cup YUMMY?!? The pattern paper is the new MME, Love Me 6x6 pad.  I added liquid applique to the whip cream!
I also have some great news to share.  You may have already seen this announcement, but I was invited to be on the 2012 Spellbinders DT for another year!  This is so exciting, not only do I love Spellbinders dies, but they are the most wonderful, generous and organized company to work with. Thank you Stacey, Cathy, Kim and Beth for inviting me for another year!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
P.S. the sequins are the 6mm cupped flower

BellaRiffic Friday challenges

Hi everyone!  I have a couple Stamping Bella cards to share with you today.  As you may know, Stamping Bella is now a SCS member company and they have challenges posted every week.

This card is for Week 5 challenge, Anything Goes meaning you can use any Stamping Bella image.  I used the Daisybella image, doesn't she look great in her jeans and tee shirt?  I used the little flower dies from the Home Sweet Home set like I did with this card.  The pattern paper is Vanity Fair by MME.
This card is for the Week 4 challenge, to make a Valentine's card.  This card uses the retired Balloonbella and a computer generated sentiment.  I added some crystal effects on the balloons and the pattern paper is Love Story from Fancy Pants.  OK, I don't proclaim to be a great colorer, so PLEASE don't study the coloring on her dress too carefully.  Especially if you look at some of the great colorers out there like the Stamping Bella DT or my BFF, Michele Boyer!  Now, they have skillz!
That's it for today.  Got lots on my plate as my oldest Daniel turns 8 tomorrow!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Stamps - Daisybella and sentiment (Stamping Bella Co)
Paper - White and Aqua Mist cardstock and Six by Six pad "Vanity Fair" collection (My Mind's Eye)

Ribbon Inspiration/Stamp Simply Style - Cool Blue

Hi everyone!  Welcome to this week's Ribbon Inspiration Stamp Simply Style. This week we are using shades of blue!  Anything goes, we just had to use blue ribbon.

My card uses the fabulous background stamp by JustRite Stampers, Chevron Stipe Background and the sentiment set, Spring Words.  The cool thing about background stamps is how versatile they are.  You can make quick and cute cards with them and few other supplies.  Here is a simple birthday card.
 Here is another...
I was so inspired I made a few more in different colors.
Some of you may not have a background stamp block and wonder if you can use the stamps anyway?  Well, here is how I stamp with them.  I lay the stamp on my desk, ink it up and lay the paper on top.  You can use your hand to evenly wipe your paper across the ink, or you could use a brayer.  You will notice I have another stamp turned face up below my inked stamp?  I put it there to give my paper an even place to lay.  Since this is a 1 layer card and I needed stamping was PERFECTLY even, I found my paper was tipping awkwardly without the support.

Each week we will have fabulous Blog Candy (this week's is pictured below) made up of the ribbons that we feature.  The winner will be drawn from comments on one of today’s participating blogs, one comment per blog, please.  The winner will be selected at 6 p.m. EST on Tuesday, February 17th and posted on Sharon's Blog on Wednesday.
You must check back to claim your prize if you are the lucky winner!

Ribbon Inspiration/Stamp Simply Style - Ric Rac

Hi everyone!   Welcome to this week's Ribbon Inspiration Stamp Simply Style. This week we are focusing on Ric Rac ribbon! I really like ric rac ribbons, but don't use them that often.  Not sure why because they add just that right amount of pizzazz!!

Here is a link to the entire Ric Rac/Zig Zag ribbon category.

My card uses a piece of the wide ric rac ribbon.  The image is from the totally fun new JustRite Stampers set, Just Keep Calm which has coordinating Spellbinders die sets (LOVE)!  I love the feel of the Lily Bee Designs, Head Over Heels paper -perfect whimsical designs for this sentiment.
OK, you HAVE to check out this stamp set!  Look at all the fun possibilities...

Gina K January release inspiration blog hop: Day 3

Hi everyone!  Welcome to the Final Day of the Gina K Designs January Release Inspiration Blog hop!  Today we are spotlighting the set Fresh Start, the 1 Free with Three set.  This means you will get this set for free when you order any 3 sets from the store!
I made a couple cards using the stamp set and the fabulous paper pack Wisteria Lane.  I used the same basic sketch for both.  It maybe hard to see in the first picture, but I die cut the shape out of the front of the card.  Then stamped the image on the shape and glued it to the inside.  I am fighting a horrible cold, so I am keeping this post short.
For even more samples of this new set, you can visit each of the GKD Design Team blogs listed below.  Make sure you leave a comment here and on each of their blogs because Gina is going to draw two randomly chosen winners from all of the blog comments, and each will receive a fabulous grab bag of stamps!  You can check out the Big News thread on StampTV Monday of next week to find all the winners.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the hop!  I'll leave you with a close up pictures.

Gina K January release inspiration blog hop: Day 1

Hi everyone!  Welcome to Day 1 of the Gina K Designs December Release Inspiration Blog hop!  Today we are spotlighting the sets, Stately Flowers 3 and Mehndi Wishes,  illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger and Rupa Shevde respectively.

First up is a card using Stately Flowers 3 illustrated by Melanie.  This is the third in a series of stamp sets profiling all the states and their official flowers.  This set includes Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana and Alaska.  My card uses the Mississippi State Magnolia flower lightly colored with copics. I made 2 cards, both CAS and using the same paper and coloring scheme.
Next, is my card using Mehndi Wishes illustrated by Rupa.  I must confess.  I didn't know what mehndi was when I received this set, and I had to Google it.  Mehndi is the Indian art form of henna temporary tattoos.  I was amazed and truly inspired at designs of mehndi.  My card was inspired by this lovely picture.  Most of the tattoos are not colored in, so I left my image blank and used some simple strips of cardstock and gold pearls as accents.
For even more samples of these new sets, you can visit each of the GKD Design Team blogs listed below.  Make sure you leave a comment here and on each of their blogs because Gina is going to draw two randomly chosen winners from all of the blog comments, and each will receive a fabulous grab bag of stamps!  You can check out the Big News thread on StampTV next Monday to find all the winners.
Thanks for stopping by!  I will leave you with some close up pictures.  Be sure to come back Friday when I showcase the 1 Free with Three set!!
