Some baby cards, a boy and a girl

Hi everyone!  I have a couple baby cards to share today.  My sister is always in need for cards from me and I thought I would add a few baby cards to her stash.  A boy and a girl card.

First up is the baby girl card.  This darling bear is from Gina K's set, Oh Baby!.  I have used this layout before and I love it.  It's quick and easy and uses up some of the pattern paper scraps.  Isn't that Daisy chain border punch adorable???
Next is the baby boy card that I submitted to Paper Crafts not too long ago.  I used Verve's To the Moon stamp set on this one.  I really went all out here, made a frame using my Classic Square Nestabilities, made the little elephant peek out (idea from the fabulous Amy Sheffer), and paper pieced the cute kites.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  I'll leave you with some close up pics.

Hi everyone!  Welcome to Day One of the Gina K Designs May Release Inspiration hop!  Today we are spotlighting 2 fabulous sets, Vogue Vases and Border Bling.

First up, is a card using Vogue Vases which is designed by Theresa Momber.  This amazing set features 2 vases, 4 blooms, a shelf and 3 sentiments.  I stamped and trimmed out the flowers and curled them slightly with my stylus and added a rhinestone in the center.  The pattern paper is from My Mind's Eye, their new Lime Twist collection.
Next up is my sample using Border Bling which is designed by Melanie Muenchinger.  This set features 5 shapes that match Nestabilities, 5 sentiments and several accent stamps.  I embossed the "bling frame" in black and added some small rhinestone accents.  I embossed the white cardstock every 1/2" in a lattice design.

A Couple of cute "rejects"

Hi everyone!  Welcome to a special blog hop -this is a rejection blog hop.  Most of you know that I submit cards for publication on a regular basis and well, let's just say more DON'T get picked up than DO!  Being published is not for the faint of heart -lol!

So, last week Paper Crafts sent acceptance emails for their upcoming Card A Day issue.  There were over 2400 cards submitted and 366 were selected for the special issue (2012 is a leap year).  That leaves a whole LOT of cards that need some lovin'.  Amber is hosting the blog hop for designers to show some cards that were NOT selected.

I submitted several cards for consideration and sadly, none were chosen for this issue.  So here are 2 cuties (imho), they both use Gina K stamps.  This baby card uses Oh Baby! and some My Mind's Eye paper, from the Fine and Dandy True Blue line.
This one uses the set, Bug me Anytime!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  Here are a couple close up shots.

WMS May Blog Waltz

Hi everyone!  I have my very first Waltzingmouse card to share today!  I am so thrilled that they are a Preferred Stamping Partner with Spellbinders.  This means that WMS has a partnership to design stamps that coordinate with Spellbinders dies.  I have always been a huge fan of Claire's designs, but never really had the chance to play with her stamps.

Welllll, I placed my first order a few weeks ago and could barely wait to get them inky when they arrived this weekend!  My card today is for the May Blog Waltz, which is a blog hop of sorts for Waltzingmouse. This month's theme is to make a masculine card.  You can go to this forum thread to find links of all the players.  My card uses the set, Say it Loud and pattern paper from MME, the new Lime Twist collection, Out of the Blue 6x6 pad (LOVE all the new Life Twist papers, sigh). I embossed the sentiment as I found it the easiest way to stamp on vellum -otherwise it smears no matter how long it sits!
My card is also for this week's SCS Featured Stamper challenge to case Aimes.  I am new to her gallery, but she is a fantastic stamper!  I chose to case this card. I kept the same adorable layout and use of vellum for the sentiment! I changed up the flower and buttons for stars and made my card a birthday card.

Here is a peek at the inside.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  I'll leave you with a close up.

Card Deets:
Stamps - Say it Loud (WMS)
Ink -Onyx Black (Versafine)
Paper - white cardstock, Out of the Blue 6x6 pad (My Mind's Eye), vellum
Accessories - Standard Circles SM Nestabilities and Stars Five (Spellbinders Paper Arts), linen thread (SU), tiny twinkles (Taylored Expressions), foam tape, clear EP

A baby card and color challenge card to share

Hi everyone!  I have a new Spellbinders card to share!  I made this baby card as a sample for Stacey's recent Spellbinders HSN appearance.  My little card was sitting on the left side of the table.  Stacey's segment was bumped up do to the prior segment ending early.  Thus, my DVRing the show missed it!  So, if you happened to see my card, let me know :-)

The card uses the new Shapeabilities die templates, New Arrival, the Nestabilities Labels Seventeen, and the Jumbo Scalloped Border Petites (say that 5 times!).  The stork and baby were sponged while they were still in the die.  That way only the paper "embossed" gets color.  I have never done that technique before, it was one of the things I learned at the Spellbinders retreat.  Cool huh?  The adorable pattern paper is from Graphic 45, the Baby 2 Bride collection.  So pretty and soft!
Next up, is a card I made for this week's SCS Color challenge 322.  I rarely have time to play along with SCS challenges anymore and I MISS THEM!  Anyway, this week's colors were Blushing Bride, Certainly Celery and So Saffron.  What great soft colors!  I used the cutie stamp set by Unity, Loolah (an Iron Orchid Designs co-brand). The pattern paper is Echo Park, Little Girl Collection and the ribbon is So Saffron.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Card Deets:
Ink - Vintage Photo distress (Ranger), Papaya Cream and Curry (ColorBox)
Paper - Cream cardstock (GKD), Baby to Bride "Unchained Melody" (Graphic 45)
Accessories - Stickles, Cream twill ribbon (May Arts), S5-025 Labels Seventeen die #4, S4-260 New Arrival, and S4-241 Jumbo Scalloped Border Petites (Spellbinders Paper Arts), Lippy Red rhinestones (KaiserCraft)

Stamps - Loolah Collection (Unity), Just Wanted to Say (Ippity Stamps) for sentiment
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper - white cardstock, Little Girl collection pp (Echo Park)
Accessories - S4-293 Lacey Circles and S4-114 Standard Circles LG Nestabilities (Spellbinders Paper Arts), copic markers, 3mm yellow gold pearls (Pizzazz Aplenty), Stickles

Flourishes Country Charm blog hop

Hi everyone!  Welcome to a very special blog hop!  Today, Spellbinders Paper Arts has teamed up with Flourishes to make sure you have the perfect set of stamps to match a darling set of tag style die templates.

Wonderfully whimsical and reminiscent of Grandma’s calico prints, Flourishes “charming” set offers three labels that coordinate perfectly with S4-322 Grommet Tags. Designed by Becky Fleck, you’ll also find 6 beautiful sentiments and 4 accent stamps to dress up your labels! Pair that with Flourishes Country Charm Borders and you have the perfect set to make darling note cards in minutes. Flourishes coordinating Country Charm Borders set features five border strips that match the labels set to a tee.

I made a couple cards that showcase my favorite tag shape!!  I colored in the floral pattern with 2 light copic markers.  The flowers were made by cutting a scalloped circle into a spiral.
This next CAS card also uses the set Taglines for the sentiment.  LOVE!
Because Flourishes knew this set was a match made in heaven with Spellbinder’s Grommet Tags, both design teams are joining forces for a fun-filled show and tell blog hop! Make sure to hop on over and see…

Please note some of the ladies are experiencing technical trouble with Blogger, we apologize for the inconvenience.  Please check back later if a blog doesn’t work.

Keep in mind, if you like what you see, both the Country Charms Labels and Country Charms Borders are available now! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

It's a Crafty Secrets Cotton Scraps sale

Hi everyone!  I wanted to let you all know that Sharon from The Stamp Simply Ribbon store is having a sale on all of her Cotton Scraps!  Be sure to check out the Specials section and see other fabulous items are on sale -like all the Spellbinders dies and JustRite Stampers inventory!

I thought it would be fun to join Sharon with her walk down memory lane, and share some cards I made using the fabulous Cotton Scraps over the years!  Like Sharon, I am showing you these to give you ideas on how to use the scraps on a card.  Most of the scraps shown below are no longer available.  But there are still a plenty of pretty and fun designs available.

It's fun to see my older cards, I can tell most of these were taken in 2008 because of the cards staged in front of my teddy bear.  Those were back in my early SCS days -OH MY, look at all the layers and framing on these cards!  I didn't even know how to edit much, heehee.

Here's a link to my original SCS gallery upload
SCS gallery link for this one
This one was an old Taylored Expressions sketch!  SCS gallery link
Last but not least, I made this one for a Crafty Secrets challenge to use punches!  SCS gallery link
